LRG Posted May 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 30, 2009 Hey guys. I downloaded openBVE yesterday and I'm ready to use it but I'm still uncertain as to where I can download the routes and cars from. Any ideas? Thanks.
error46146 Posted May 31, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 31, 2009 if you already have BVE2 or BVE4 installed, just type in the proper directories into OpenBVE. FOR BVE2 - Routes C:\Program Files\BVE\Railway\Route Trains C:\Program Files\BVE\Train If you dont have any routes yet, then you can start downloading them. Their all over the internet just google it lol. If you want NYCTA stuff go to http://www.bvestation.com

KTrainExp Posted May 31, 2009 Share #9 Posted May 31, 2009 You need to install BVE2 or BVE4 for openBVE to work. The reason is because openBVE is structured on the two games. Here's a simple non-detailed procedure: 1.) Go to http://mackoy.cool.ne.jp/ and download BVE2 (As the NYCTA BVE routes are centered upon this program) 2.) Go to http://openbve.trainsimcentral.co.uk/ and download the latest version of openBVE 3.) IMPORTANT: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP THE GAME. You need to install a few dependencies that require some extra steps to work the game. 4.) Set up shortcuts and that basic stuff. 5.) Download BVE routes and trains on BVEStation.com. Detailed tutorials can be found if you search the entire site. 6.) Navigate to the BVE Folder in openBVE 7.) Select the route 8.) PLAY!!!!

KTrainExp Posted June 1, 2009 Share #15 Posted June 1, 2009 BVE will work on nVidia cards, the issue is with BVE and Vista. Of course it will. But if you have BVE, Vista, and nVidia, then there is a 90% chance that it WILL NOT work. Whereas if you have BVE, Vista, and an ATI Graphics card, there is a much larger chance it might work. Paul P Posted July 6, 2009 Share #20 Posted July 6, 2009 The problem is in high security for the .NET Framework 2.0, it has to do with permissions from a user. There is a hotfix by Microsoft, but not guaranteed to work: http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?DownloadID=6003 I'll try to look into it some more. salieri101 Posted August 18, 2009 Share #25 Posted August 18, 2009 OpenBVE has a similar directory structure to the BVE2 and 4. If u download the routes from bvestation in the executable format then at install u can direct it to ur OPENBVE installation where it will be placed to the correct directory. If u download the routes from bvestation in the zipped format then unzip it, use a filemanager to copy the things in the zip to the correct place TRAINS go to OPENBVE\TRAIN ROUTES go to OPENBVE\RAILWAY\ROUTE OBJECTS go to OPENBVE\RAILWAY\OBJECT When it comes to openbve i think u should forget bvestation cuz they made the trains for BVE2 and/or BVE4 and not for openbve, although they told me that the openbve versions of the nyc trains are under development. Check: http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=148293&postcount=11 So if u want NYC trains and routes for openbve then i guess u either hafta search through this forum for infos or u hafta google it like i also hafta do
