MaBSTOA B/O Exams - No Fee to Apply!! (Open Until Further Notice)

Message added by +Young+,

As a friendly reminder, when you submit your online application, you must have either your Class B CDL (Commercial Driver License) or your Class B CLP (Commercial Learner Permit) with the Passenger "P" endorsement. They will run your abstract prior to you reporting for pre-employment, therefore, as long as you have the temporary paper permit from the Department of Motor Vehicles, you will be fine.

If you need help getting your Class B Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP), I would encourage you to check out cristcdl.com. Remember, the multiple-choice exams that you need to take and pass, at minimum, are General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsement. If you would like and/or need more information into obtaining your Commercial Driver's License (CDL), click here.

When you are ready to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles, click here to make a reservation for yourself.

Good luck!!

Hey family, just an update.  I passed the CDL road test today.  It was my second and last try. We family, so if I can do it so can you.

Congrats. This probation crap is no joke, once again I’m going to emphasize to you, theres too many inconsiderate people out there that want to take food out of our tummies, and stupid people everywhere. Protect yourself at all times. Make sure you have your union shop steward on speed dial. Speak to them before you do anything that feels uncomfortable and may lead you into trouble.
If you’re called to see the boss, Do not speak to them without union representation.
best of luck.

hi, no you don't take the drug test the same day as the information session. when you go to the information session they will give you a date to come back and take the drug test at the end of it. i went for my drug test about 6 weeks after i went to the information seminar.

One more question… on the pre employment section with employment history, how many yrs MTA ask for?10yrs back or from HS?

From High School. As far as the dates, just focus on the months and the years.

Good luck!!

I’ve been applying and gone to at least 3 of the past mabstoa day one processing days, and wasn’t getting called back. Was scratching my head because I know my license is clean and I don’t do drums, but come to find out , you have to wait 5 years to re apply for Mta if you lost your job with them for any reason. Wish I knew that before hand, could have saved some sick days going down for day 1 processing…..

Hey guys question? What is the information session about & I just got my CDL b permit & I have a corrective lenses restriction would that be a issue

No, it just means that you needed corrective lenses to pass the vision test for your license. You will be required to wear them whenever you operate a CMV (in this case, the bus) and it will be reflected on your work ID.

I got a class A CDL and recently went and got the passenger endorsement permit because it’s saying n2 restriction but mta told me i gotta ask dmv to remove the restriction or get a B passenger permit. This don’t makes any sense!

If you took the test for the passenger endorsement and passed it, then you’re going to show the restriction for passengers until you pass the road test with DMV because you’re not certified to carry passengers until you pass the road test with the DMV instructor.

they will move you quick if you already took the drug test. Probably in about a week you’ll get your medical. If you pass the medical and all your paperwork is completed the way they want it, then you will get the offer for the job.
