This rate they won't survive long.

I would be on the bus heading home or to school and they would go right over me. I also found out that they did their time in refuse service for quite a while until being pulled back into revenue service. Imo these two sets should have been preserved, 3381 for its R30 blind end and the mis-mate for pretty obvious reasons as well as their long history in revenue and refuse services.

Thursday, March 19: Is anyone else still out there??? Today, we appeared to have seven (7) R-46s and ten (10) R-179s on . I think there were two R-32 trains in the bullpen from Pitkin but they didn't make it on the road. If anyone actually SAW what might be the last (Wednesday), please sing out!

If anyone actually SAW what might be the last (Wednesday), please sing out! Two R32 trainsets were in service today on the C. From what I was told, today was very likely the last day. If so, the actual last scheded R32 trip was around 9:30 going uptown.

I'll have to check my camera to see what other consists are out there; expect an edit on this post soon.

There were 3 sets today, 3929 south motor, I didn't get a chance to see the north motor, since I was on 3805, but I also saw another one while I was heading uptown at 34 St.

Zero R-32s on Sunday, March 22. Reason for frequent consist switching is to change-out end pairs when problems arise. It is easy to derive that the R-32s are hanging on by a thread right now.

Collin Posted March 27, 2020 Share #573 Posted March 27, 2020 Unfortunately with the covid situation, I expect an unceremonious retirement for the R32's. They could keep a set to do a final trip like the R42, but that would have to wait many weeks or even months since it would be considered a gathering.

The has done this before- the R14s, R15s, R21s and R22s were all swept under the rug when they retired essentially... it is what it is.
