VIP Posted February 27, 2020 Share #490 Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) It’s insane that 1 line needs 3 lines’ fleet. All the R160’s sent from Coney Island Yard to Jamaica is pretty much just to make the 100% new tech. Oh and of course increase “spare factor” Edited February 27, 2020 by VIP
bwwnyc123 Posted February 27, 2020 Share #491 Posted February 27, 2020 too all become 100% R160 also from ENY and that is also better for Queens Blvd riders less dwell time at stations.

Yes CBTC lines require a high spare factor (the and have excess of 8 spare trains) but for this round, it has to be balanced so that the rest of the division doesn’t have a car shortage

Jacob Posted February 27, 2020 Share #498 Posted February 27, 2020 CBTC is halfway done but today in the AM rush hours I saw countless R46s and R68s on the line in 14 street union square and I saw one R160B siemens train and I rode to Jay-Street MetroTech, but before I caught that siemens I saw a Coney Island stillwell avenue bound R160A-2 Half cuomo wrapped train well it's not connect to CBTC, So I didn't saw more changes on the and lines but just more Astoria sets in the r160s and still one siemens in the and lines are still sharing day by day and the line still have a whole bunch of siemens running and the line? No changes because the r160s are only a 8-car set so that is what i'm seeing today and before. Let me see what you guys saw in the Coney island and Jamaica yard swap.
