R10 2952 Posted July 10, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 10, 2016 From what I understand, Metro-North has a general leasing/operating agreement with New Jersey Transit. But I was wondering, are there or have there ever been any circumstances under which the MNRR F-40s would be needed or used in East-of-Hudson territory? Or is that equipment basically meant to spend the rest of it's service life running to Port Jervis and such?
MassTransitHonchkrow Posted July 10, 2016 Share #2 Posted July 10, 2016 Those trains are designed differently. Some of the stations don't have a platform edge and allow exits all the way to the ground. If you used them east of the Hudson the entryway would be sixteen inches too high.
