4 Train Posted September 23, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2008 Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (PSP (PlayStation Portable); 2.00)) Today at around 2pm, I was at a friend house and she lives near the B75. I noticed an Orion V|| CNG sitting at the bus stop blowing its horn, as if it was stuck. So the B/O turned off the bus and turned it on. Horn started up again. The B/O took the bus OOS and waited for the road crew. When they arrived of course the horn stopped and they escorted the bus back to the depot. Why take a bus OOS just for a horn? It makes no sense to me.
Pablo M 201 Posted September 23, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2008 Well, its just to check the electrical and whatnot, make sure everything is straight. So they're gonna want to take the bus to the depot and have a series of other tests, and also if theres things that the depot has and the mechanic doesn't on the spot. Incredible Hawk Posted September 24, 2008 Share #4 Posted September 24, 2008 No Pablo The TA is big on honking your horn at anything that might cause an accident ie: kids in the street, a person on the bike going in the same direction, cell phone clowns standing off the curb anything of that nature. If you get into an accident and you dont have a horn......the TA way is GUILTY TILL PROVEN GUILTY.On our OVCR card anything shaded in red is a safety issue and the vehicle cannot be used in service. The Horn falls under those guidelines.(NYCT)
