GojiMet86 Posted December 21, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 21, 2015 I know nothing about fonts, but this is pretty noticeable. It's on the staircase they're fixing. AGAIN, despite having work on it done a year or two ago. The other photo is from the south entrance on the Queens side, which was "fixed" TWICE within the last two years. A rant for another time, but anyway: IMG_1394 by GojiMet86, on Flickr IMG_1395 by GojiMet86, on Flickr

Via Garibaldi 8 Posted December 21, 2015 Share #3 Posted December 21, 2015 I just wonder what sort of quality control exists to allow signs like this to come out?

MHV9218 Posted December 22, 2015 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2015 I can't believe I got a thread directed at me! You're right, I'm gonna have to make my way up to Ditmars and check that out...if I can stomach it. That is so wildly far from anything that TA signs are supposed to look like that I assume it was done by some independent contractor with only a loose idea of the design. Doesn't even have any semblance of a white stripe, which is practically the signature MTA mark. Hopefully it's only a sticker or decal or sorts, because that's pretty appalling. R10 2952 Posted December 22, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 22, 2015 Actually, it looks a bit like Akzidenz-Grotesk except more.... grotesque.
Lance Posted January 1, 2016 Share #7 Posted January 1, 2016 This doesn't look like it came from Bergen St. No Helvetica, no white stripe; nothing that resembles the signature style of sign that comes from the MTA's in-house sign shop.
Union Tpke Posted January 7, 2016 Share #8 Posted January 7, 2016 That is a really odd sign! Nice find!
GojiMet86 Posted February 12, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted February 12, 2016 That sign is now gone and the old sign was put back in place. It must have been a placeholder.
