Ale188 Posted September 14, 2023 Share #6227 Posted September 14, 2023 So, we have 110 R211s delivered to NYC so far, but I'm assuming 4145-49 will get delivered next week. And MAYBE, MAYBE a T will hit service next week cuz it's usually 1 R211A train every 2 weeks. It has been back to back, last week being 4090-94/4125-29, and today being 4110-4119. And that's probably why the MTA did so. But it's whatever. My damn diagram, but actually correct. R211A: 4060-4144, 85 cars, or 8 10-car trains and 1 5-car train R211T: 404-4059, 20 cars, or 2 10-car trains R211S: 100-104, 5 cars, or 1 5-car train Total: 85 + 20 + 5 = 110 total R211 cars R211s in service: 4060-4099, 4110-4129 (all As), 60 cars, or 6 10-car trains Lines R211s run on: Lines R211s will soon run on: ( is still possible if the Softee transfers back to 🇯🇲)

You can’t assume until ALL BASE order is done as for the R211Ts, nobody knows for sure once the R211Ts start late this year
Kamen Rider Posted September 15, 2023 Share #6230 Posted September 15, 2023 Literally the only confirmed detail is the R211T and R211S will commence passenger testing within the next year. past that, it is all up in the air.

The and can't be 100% tech by then because the Base order would be complete by then going into option I. This all takes time, The main goal is to make the and 100% tech or 100% R211's by 2025-26. All of the 10 car R179s are rumored to be pushed out to Jamaica to expand their CBTC fleet and the 8 car ones would probably end up at ENY. The and can still get re-routed on 8th ave even with CBTC with R68s as long as the wayside signals aren't as far apart (for that time being) until the / becomes 100% tech. Thanks for the clarification. I just hope that option order 2 is exercised and I just hope that the MTA doesn't screw things up in regards to the number of r262's and r268's that need to be purchased.

The MTA better not get to scrap happy and remove wayside signals too soon. And the R262 / R268s are the MTAs last chance to get subway car orders right in terms of retiring non NTT equipment so that CBTC systemwide rollouts can start. The entire R211 order is needed because it will be the last order prior to phase 2 of SAS opening, and every last car will be needed to provide full Service on SAS and prepare the Broadway Line for whatever changes need to be done to the mainline Edited September 16, 2023 by darkstar8983
FLX9304 Posted September 17, 2023 Share #6243 Posted September 17, 2023 With all this GO going on today, there was only a train of set of R211: 4090-4094 + 4125-4129 in service on the and a set of R160s 8401-8404 + 8489-8492 on the between both 207th & 168th Sts respectively to Euclid Ave. I didn’t check the Rockaway section today.
