Cait Sith Posted January 23, 2015 Share #9 Posted January 23, 2015 As soon as they are rehabbed, expect a bus order to replace them From what I heard, there's no rehab planned for those buses. But we'll have to wait and see.

Silk City Transit Posted January 23, 2015 Share #11 Posted January 23, 2015 When I was at Market Street last year, the 6200's were like rockets. The 5600's were decent but the 53/5400's were slugs.
SirJokaPlaya Posted January 24, 2015 Share #12 Posted January 24, 2015 Hard to figure that I was at Meadowlands when the 5200's came in at mid 2008 with that epic photo of 5201 near the GWB in Fort Lee. Fast forward 6 and a half years later and the only garage (Correct me if I'm wrong) that has RTS buses left is Orange and the graveyard near the Meadowlands. I didn't drive the 5800's but I remember so many drivers loving to drive the 5200's because it was more power and faster than the 5800's.
anthonyelnino Posted January 24, 2015 Author Share #13 Posted January 24, 2015 The 5200's are much faster then the 5800's, but the 5800's drive and ride much smoother then the 5200's....I'll drive a 5800's or higher bus over a 5200's any time
553 Bridgeton Posted January 25, 2015 Share #14 Posted January 25, 2015 The mcis are not being replaced anytime soon. Million miles rebuild then run another million miles.
SirJokaPlaya Posted January 25, 2015 Share #15 Posted January 25, 2015 They'll run them down like the 102DL3's we have at Greyhound. Frigging 98, 99, 00 buses that are near the end of their life cycle. At least you don't have ZF 12 speed's. Good God, I hate to get a bus like that. busdude2 Posted January 30, 2015 Share #16 Posted January 30, 2015 I love driving the 5800's also..... Transit is going to replace the mci first then the 5200-5400's. Transit has to keep the buses a lease 10yrs or more befor they replace them MCI's then the Artics then maybe by 2020 the 5200's-5400's will start to go.
