ConcourseExp Posted November 18, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2014 Where do you guys think the future schedule for FASTRACK should go? To get it started, I think that it should fix the line between 121 Street and Broadway Junction because that section of the Jamaica Line is being damaged and needs a more modern look. That would require Weekend FASTRACK since it's outdoors by people's apartments. Anyway, I think they should take a look at the entire Queens Blvd Line, and also maybe Culver? I'd say the next fasttrack could be the BMT Broadway line between Canal Street and Dekalb Avenue
MTA Dude Posted November 18, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 18, 2014 Not the entire line. That's too much. They've been doing only west of Jackson Heights. How about east of it?
MysteriousBtrain Posted November 18, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 18, 2014 They've been doing only west of Jackson Heights. How about east of it? I'd say east of Forest Hills only because of access to Jamaica yard. But never an entire line without a complete replacement. Ridership at night is low, but not that low. pjbr40 Posted November 18, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 18, 2014 i think the need some fastback since it never got any. i think between essex and broad st including the to broadway Lafayette. also those three stations underground after 121 street. President and Flatbush and from Franklin to New lot from 96 Street and North to Lennox terminal and wherever the tunnel stop on the line. north of 125 street on all tunnel area to outside. Eric B Posted November 18, 2014 Share #7 Posted November 18, 2014 East of Roosevelt is where the big signal project is underway. They should not try to squeeze all that work under traffic as they have been doing, so they do need to start having them up on that end (not the same time as the rest of the line, of course). RtrainBlues Posted November 18, 2014 Share #8 Posted November 18, 2014 Jackson Heights/74th St to Union Tpke might be useful, since that stretch has neverending weekend track work. LIRR could cross-honor Metrocards during such an overnight FASTTRACK to decrease the number of shuttle buses needed.
