Q23 via 108 Posted February 16, 2020 Share #5686 Posted February 16, 2020 Say what you want about the R46s, but I have mad respect for them because they got to be used on a lot of other lines before they retired. The R32s got to shine on the and for a little while, but for the better part of the last decade, the R32s only ran on the and . The same could be said about the R42s. Other than the Shuttle, they've ran on the and strictly for the last 10 years. The R46s have spread out over the system and still have a few years to go. On a day like today. You can have an R46 run on the and Rockaway Park all at the same time. The R32s and R42s have been used on every line during their 50+ year careers, but during their final years of service (or really the entire 2010 decade) they have been relegated to one or two lines. I don't know which line will have the R46, but atleast you can say that the R46s have been around many lines, in the beginning and the end of their careers. Other car types like the Redbirds, R62As, R68s are cars that started with a lot of lines and finished off with a lot of lines.

For the past decade, they’ve only had enough cars for a couple lines, since the R160’s retired about two-thirds of the fleet. No it didn't. The R160s on the didn't start until the Spring 2010. The R42s from Jamaica Yard were already retired by that December of 2009.

The used 10 car units and the can only run 8-car trains. There is no Metropolitan Avenue south destination sign and the C/R boards along 6 Av and Queens Blvd did not align properly for an R42. Although new C/R boards were made specially for the along the two corridors in 2010
