Coney Island Av Posted December 28, 2018 Share #4326 Posted December 28, 2018 The R32 will definitely be gone soon, considering only one set remains. The R42s will finally start leaving ENY right after the R32s leave, meaning we'll finally get an answer as to which line they'll go to...

VIP Posted December 29, 2018 Share #4328 Posted December 29, 2018 Man those R42’s are Useless. Whichever line they’ll end up on Will serve only as a spare and likely won’t be in regular passenger service wreaking havoc as it currently does on the

But they really should be used as a spare, or at least in the Rush Hours. So I’ll agree with you on your second statement.
trainfan22 Posted December 30, 2018 Share #4333 Posted December 30, 2018 (edited) The good thing about the 42s possibly going to CI is they will change the windows and clean them up cosmetically. CI yard 160s are the cleanest out of all the yards that have those cars. I ride the regularly and never had any issues with the 42 in recent years. They aren't really that bad for 49 year old cars. Coney Island Av Posted December 30, 2018 Share #4334 Posted December 30, 2018 I'm sad to announce that as of today, there are no more R32s on the . While there's still around ten cars worth of R32s there, they are withdrawn from operating in service until they get transferred to 207 St. It was fun while it lasted, but it is what is I guess...

From my perspective, people should start to get photos while they can, the R-42 on the and to a lesser extent, . Are the last SMEE's on the line with nothing but numbered days ahead before Canarsie. I honestly believe they'll be sent to the A, since ENY was sending it to 207th anyways. Additionally, to what I've heard- Coney Island Yard doesn't want to deal with the R32s and R42s in service, so sending them to the A makes sense. However, thats just my opinion.
m2fwannabe Posted January 5, 2019 Share #4338 Posted January 5, 2019 It looks like all 222 R-32's are now accounted for at 207 Street. 3774/75 was in C service on January 4. Also recently transferred from 207 to ENY were 8637-40 with 9951-54 and then 8629-32. It also looks like there is some energy now toward sending the remaining R-160A-1's from 207 back to ENY . Apparently working downwards from 8628 toward 8585, then the rest later. As of January 3, there were 64 R-160A-1's @ 207 and 308 @ ENY.
