They are like old BMT standard cars which never wore out but were replaced because people got tired of them and couldn't get parts anymore. Those cars went for almost 60 years. Sometimes you get a design where everything works as it was designed and like Timex watches they take a licking and keep on ticking. Those buses are an example of it. Right now 9849 is the only one in service. 9899 and 9905 are going from the OOS lot to the supermarket. There's a good chance of catching 9849 on the Q53 around 7 pm. Nice shots though!
