A bunch from recently, but firstly, looks like those BusTime ads (which are out early, since the "today" referred to is a week or so away) will be going on every bus. First time these MTA Bus numbers have had them...

Jesus, I have yet to see an MTA Bus NG or OG hybrid with BusTime front ads. I saw 4150 with a different front ad, but not these. I seriously gotta check out the 8700s at LGA along with 9048 and 9217, those two run along with 8793. Loving them shots!

Nice, especially like the ones of the Q35 during snow. Respect for the effort

Thank you sir!

JFK and FR has at least 15 buses with blackbacks. BP has 1 from JFK.

Nice catch

Right, there are still a few left but there aren't that many--not compared to delivery, at least! Thanks as well.

Nice set...

Thank you!

I saw 4150 with that ad as well, that was an odd one. 9048 and 9217 are definitely runners, that whole series of 921x RTSes has lasted pretty well with a lot of them still running. 8793 was a surprise, I forgot that one was still in service. Thanks as well!

And exactly how old are these 2 RTS since you know they are the oldest? And why would you even know this unless you work in maintenance?

What's your problem today?

Alright, a friend of mine at West Side depot gave me a company of the MTA Insider's Guide a while back which clarifies the numbering system on all of the buses. 8750-9349 are 1995-1997 Novabus RTSes, and these two (8781 and 8793) are early 1996 models, making them between seventeen to eighteen years old. I know these are the oldest because the retirement of the vast majority of the other 87xx buses has been reported around here by operators and maintenance workers alike.

No problems just wondering how one finds out its the oldest running.
