MHV9218 Posted July 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 27, 2013 One from Jamaica and one from the Village... (edit: typo in the title) Was too lazy to stand up and get a decent shot, but here's a weird sign malfunction... This bus was in service with passengers on the M5... MHV9218 Posted July 27, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted July 27, 2013 Why didn't they just put up the M5 sign? Nice shots btw! Just maybe the digital sign was broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He actually had the M5 sign up a minute before I took the shot and changed it for some reason. Couldn't figure it out seeing as he was running the M5 route, not the M20. Maybe the codes are similar for the M5 to 14th and the M20 to Chambers. YankeesPwnMets Posted July 27, 2013 Share #10 Posted July 27, 2013 Isn't 5294 a MJQ bus though? I though the M5 came out of Manhattanville Depot
Gotham Bus Co. Posted July 28, 2013 Share #11 Posted July 28, 2013 Maybe the codes are similar for the M5 to 14th and the M20 to Chambers. Typically, the code for an M5 reading would be 105_, while an M20 code would be 120_. The first digit is for the borough (Manhattan gets "1" and "2"), the second and third digits are the route number, and the last digit is for the destination itself (even for northbound/eastbound, odd for southbound/westbound).
