DJ MC Posted June 12, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 12, 2013 Wow that looks good. To think those were going to be made entirely of Carbon Steel.
itmaybeokay Posted June 12, 2013 Share #3 Posted June 12, 2013 That looks like a video screengrab, I'd be interested to see source link?
105th St KK QJ JJ J Posted June 12, 2013 Share #4 Posted June 12, 2013 I like the blue doors....like when the 32's were fresh and new.
R10 2952 Posted June 12, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 12, 2013 Not bad. I've always thought that the R-38 was one of the best looking car classes out there. Pity that they're gone...
MHV9218 Posted June 14, 2013 Share #6 Posted June 14, 2013 I miss having blue in the subway system, that was such a common look through the 1960s and 1970s and it's all but gone now. Real shame. This looks great, anyway.
Far Rock Depot Posted June 14, 2013 Share #7 Posted June 14, 2013 I miss having blue in the subway system, that was such a common look through the 1960s and 1970s and it's all but gone now. Real shame. This looks great, anyway. It was the "MTA corporate look" They should bring it back IMO. If you all think the render for the 38s were cool, you should have seen the one for the R40 slants!
mtattrain Posted June 14, 2013 Share #8 Posted June 14, 2013 That drawing of the R38 looks so futuristic for its time... kinda reminds me of PATCO for some reason...
Guest Lance Posted June 14, 2013 Share #9 Posted June 14, 2013 There is a distinct lack of color in the trains, especially with the exteriors. Besides the splashes of red on the 142s, everything's either stainless steel, carbon steel, and in the case of the 42s, rust. Sure, the NTTs have the black fronts, but that's about it. I'd also like a return to the "corporate look". At the very least, it'll break up the monotony prevalent today.
