Brighton Local Posted July 22, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 22, 2008 I highly doubt the 40s will ever see service again. I dont think they will see anything else but service again.

MattTrain Posted July 22, 2008 Share #5 Posted July 22, 2008 I wish you'd put and trains as your other choices, I'd vote for because the R40 slant cars made their debut on that line. The and also have used R40 slant cars in their earlier years too. B)

MattTrain Posted July 22, 2008 Share #7 Posted July 22, 2008 With the available choices you have there, I'd say . Two Reasons Making the more of a mixed bag of cars (R32, R38, *R40*, R40M, R42, and R44 The slant cars will return to the for the first time since the 1980's. Ken S. Posted July 22, 2008 Share #11 Posted July 22, 2008 The as a foamer's dream choice. Yeah, how many would be out in the Rockaways taking pics of the Slants on the . I'm guessing they would fly down "the stretches" at a pretty decent clip. I rode one of them on an R42 when I was in the city and it moved pretty fast until hitting those stupid timers near CC. Take out the timers between 125-CC and Howard Beach-Hammels and they might move pretty fast. Of course the will never do that.
Joe C Posted July 22, 2008 Share #12 Posted July 22, 2008 I doubt the TA will do a last revenue run like they did with the R33/36WF cars.if anything though, their last runs will be on the ( line.

JOrion3741 Posted July 25, 2008 Share #21 Posted July 25, 2008 It should do the pre-2001 old B train route. It should start at Bedford Park Blvd via 6 Av/West End terminating at Coney Island-Stillwell Ave. I believe that will be the best route to commemorate the R40 Slant! I've had alot of great times and memories on those cars!
