Duh. Like I already said...the is already operating full-time into 96/2...it did the same thing last weekend. It can do so again for the aforementioned weekend when the is wiped out. Not entirely true. They're doing work North of 57th Street on the Express Tracks for the next few weekends beginning next weekend including ADA installation related work. And the wouldn't have still been able to run regardless due to both and Trains traveling via the Montague Tube southbound that weekend.

The rest of the Lenox Av corridor is not affected. Therefore, the entire line (Wakefield-Flatbush) is not affected and will be running on its normal route/headway. Depends if the is running local with the in Manhattan during the day and evening hours, the former would need to relay and reverse direction. Fumigation takes up to 5 minutes, delaying through service. Now if the was still express, then the is good. Even at night when the former is local, the latter is still good since both trains are 10 minutes apart in both directions all night long between 96 St and Chambers St. Edited November 22, 2019 by Jemorie
CenSin Posted November 23, 2019 Share #2917 Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) I just went around Canal Street (bridge platform, southbound) telling people no trains serving the platform. Most people didn't move. Good luck to them. There are no trains, and the is running via the tunnel. Why didn't the MTA communicate this more effectively?? I did not see a single sign mentioning the via tunnel. Edited November 23, 2019 by CenSin
bwwnyc123 Posted November 23, 2019 Share #2918 Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) They should have just made operate both directions via Tunnel so there are less confusions. Because now they have trains running Downtown via Tunnel and Uptown via Bridge. Edited November 23, 2019 by bwwnyc123

Putting up signs about weekend service changes at every station on a particular line reduces confusion, not by rerouting trains over a different route in either direction.

Done right, signs or a whiteboard can reduce confusion. Done wrong, signs can add confusion. Case in point TfL have signs for planned work for the current time and upcoming weekend at each station and whiteboards that are updated every hour by staff with the service status.
Lawrence St Posted December 10, 2019 Share #2921 Posted December 10, 2019 According to the planned work section of the site, it seems like the Astoria Blvd being closed advisory disappears after December 18th. So I'm guessing the opening date is the 19th?
