Shortline Bus Posted June 18, 2011 Share #927 Posted June 18, 2011 Shifting gears. Here a classic R&B/Disco hit from about 1979/'80 that my sister used to play on her old 45rpm record player. Way before MP3's, I-pod and even CD"s. "Slave" Love just a little bit. Also been sampled by several Rap songs and remade by Keith Sweat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co3FzW89EpY

Via Garibaldi 8 Posted June 22, 2011 Share #942 Posted June 22, 2011 This song has certainly grown on me over the years. Great video too. Still remember picking up this CD and having the "Down on the Upside" album shirt. I was once walking with it on in the village hanging out with some friends going to pick up some metal CDs and this middle aged lady asked me what exactly did "Down on the Upside" mean, to which I responded, "Just what it says". lol

Shortline Bus Posted June 24, 2011 Share #949 Posted June 24, 2011 ELO... Can't Get it Out of My Head, Do Ya, Mr. Blue Sky, Don't Bring Me Down, and Livin' Thing for me. Oh yes. Another listner request on NYCTF radio:cool:. LOL. Actually my favorite ELO song is "Don't Bring me Down." Even 30-plus years (1979) after its 1st release it's still used at sporting events and parties. It's a shame why this great group is not in the Rock Hall of Fame? Yet someone like Madonna(no offense to fans of her's)who was mostly a Pop/Dance/R&B singer in her carrer is in the Rock Hall.Still enjoy this great band.
