TheNewYorkElevated Posted February 27, 2016 Share #3576 Posted February 27, 2016 They really should focus on that station it's not even funny anymore. I've been to that stop numerous of times, and it was in serious danger of collapsing. Not only that, the whole station overall is in poor condition. Time is ticking before the eventual collapse of the station. Let's hope it won't end up like 181st Street on the ...
Javier Posted February 28, 2016 Share #3577 Posted February 28, 2016 Chambers St has to be the worst station In the NYC Subway system, it's getting to the point where customers will get hit by falling debris.

N6 Limited Posted March 1, 2016 Share #3580 Posted March 1, 2016 I think at the very least, nearby alternate subway lines should be listed. For Jamaica riders, they should've been encouraged to make their way over to the . Southern Astoria riders to the , and Jackson Heights riders to the . For the buses, it's a little more difficult, since you'd basically have to use a map that lists half the Queens bus network on it, since a lot of bus routes connect to multiple subway lines. Another issue is that, depending on the time of day, you might overcrowd the alternate routes for the people who are saavy enough to use them, and make them as slow as the subway line that was shut down. That's a good point.

For service between 137 St-City College and Dyckman St, passengers may use the M100 bus which runs along Amsterdam Av, Broadway and Dyckman St. Allow additional travel time.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about M track at 103. Its impossible to turn a train back there from the platform without it wrong railing all the way back to 96 St.

BronxBombers Posted March 6, 2016 Share #3588 Posted March 6, 2016 Service Change Posted: 03/06/2016 9:10AM Due to an NYPD investigation of a person struck by a train at Mosholu Pkwy, there is no train service between 167 St and Woodlawn in both directions. As an alternative customers may use free shuttle bus service between Burnside Av and Woodlawn or train service. Customers may also use the BX10, BX28 or BX32 bus service making nearby station stops. Allow additional travel time. This is crazy, the 3rd time this week.

You would think they could turn some trains at Woodside. Maybe they knew that they wouldn't be able to get them turned quickly enough to keep up with the crowds, so they didn't even bother. Interesting that they didn't mention anything about cross-honoring on the LIRR. Maybe the same reasons with crowd control.
Union Tpke Posted March 8, 2016 Share #3590 Posted March 8, 2016 What in the world.... Posted by priya12 on Mon Mar 7 19:22:26 2016 ... happened in the subway earlier??? Southbound M came down the West End to Bay Parkway and went out of service. Several F's came to Stillwell over the West End and Brighton. My friend said he saw M's going to Euclid. A southbound A was sitting at West 4th on the lower level for like an hour out of service. What a rush hour! This is what someone said on subchat. I wouldn't be surprised if there were pictures of this on here sooner or later.

checkmatechamp13 Posted March 8, 2016 Share #3592 Posted March 8, 2016 This morning was pretty rough. There was a broken rail condition at 53rd & 5th, so eastbound trains ran on the from West 4th Street to Roosevelt Avenue. On top of that, there were problems with the that were causing some trains to run express from Canal to 59th. And there was a sick passenger at 53rd & 7th, which caused trains to be delayed, which interfered with trains.

This goes for the line as well.

Wonder if this is evidence that they can't replace that interlocking soon enough, or evidence that the work to upgrade it is mucking things up. hmmm Those switches are being used more often for reroutes than they used to be. With the ongoing Fix&Fortify work on both the 53rd and Cranberry tubes, you've got those switches moving back and forth almost every weekend. And it isn't like they can take those switches out of service for a weekend to check the gears and stuff any time soon.

For the complexity and routing options of the W4 interlocking it's spent most of its days of most of its years fleeted.
