Anyway, I think there was a closed entrance at GC-42 St today because of flooding...No word of it on the MTA website, though. Eric B Posted July 25, 2012 Share #218 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) This was suddenly repeated today, when for some reason, the area was once again deemed impassible. (Again, first they were told to skip the station; then it was split into Manhattan-BWJ, single track shuttle to Norwood, and Cypress Hills-Parsons). is reporting the city dept. of buildings is ordering it. But I don't know why a 1 story building, set back from the street at that, would need service suspended once the fire is out. When I last went undergroun at Essex, they were just beginning to order the first trains back through. Now, the advisory is down already. Amtrak7 Posted July 26, 2012 Share #220 Posted July 26, 2012 Very crowded southbound pulled into Jay this afternoon at 17:20. Thought it was just a plain old gap train... Until I saw the FIND, which had the train making local stops to 59 St then non-stop to Coney Island. What was going on?
Quill Depot Posted July 26, 2012 Share #221 Posted July 26, 2012 Strange. Why 59th to Coney Island? That would only make sense on weekends.
