BM5 via Woodhaven Posted May 30, 2022 Share #7627 Posted May 30, 2022 Something's going on at Grand Central. The MTA website lists an NYPD investigation, don't know what that's about (yet). Anyways, and trains are skipping Grand Central in both directions. 42nd Street trains are suspended, and trains are not running between Queensboro Plaza and Hudson Yards.

BM5 via Woodhaven Posted June 5, 2022 Share #7639 Posted June 5, 2022 (edited) A work train apparently got a little too worked up: Service resumed a while ago, but with northbound trains operating express between 3rd Ave - 149th Street & East 180th Street Local to Express Northbound trains are running via the express track from 3 Av-149 St to E 180 St. trains are running with delays in both directions. train service between Manhattan and the Bronx has resumed. trains have resumed stopping at 149 St-Grand Concourse in both directions. Imagine you being a crew member on the train about to reach 145 St on the , and then at 125 St, you're told to reroute to 168 St. That means you need to turn your train around and return it to Brighton Beach. even more frustrating because then you lose your lay-over break. Yeah, although it would hold up trains either way (since those trains don't always leave immediately). In the scenario I listed out, you could have crews change on the upper level as well. Whether it's done on the way up or coming down, IDK (although I do think that changing on the way down would lead to the least amount of issues). It's not the most convenient setup, I know, but it beats having to take the train all the way to the other end. Plus it wouldn't have the potential to hold up as many trains either. For trains to be using the downtown track at 145th lower as a terminal, plus having through service, like everything needs to go right for it to work without delaying service.
