Joel Up Front Posted February 28, 2012 Share #26 Posted February 28, 2012 Is it me or are the Luminators brighter and clearer on the wrapped bus than on the run of the mill 1800? Contrast between the orange wraps and the Luminators isn't as bad as it was with the white paint.
N-Trizzy2609 Posted February 29, 2012 Share #27 Posted February 29, 2012 I wonder if the higher 1700s gunna get repatched nexted after the 1800s are done.

N6 Limited Posted February 29, 2012 Share #30 Posted February 29, 2012 Saw 1838 wrapped on Sunday. Unless you have a reason why you couldn't tell us then, the post still stands. The first post already included 1838

Joel Up Front Posted February 29, 2012 Share #32 Posted February 29, 2012 The first post already included 1838 Well that's magical. Only saw about 5 NGs today out of the 20 buses I saw while eating lunch at RF and on the way home, no wraps other than 1838 popped up.

N-Trizzy2609 Posted March 3, 2012 Share #35 Posted March 3, 2012 I was gunna say 1827 but someone beat me but was 1818 mentioned? Saw it yesterday on the N4 in Jamrock with 1827 being the next run. Two repaints back to back was cool to see. Cuse me two REPATCHES.

Joel Up Front Posted March 4, 2012 Share #38 Posted March 4, 2012 Is that an RVC or MF? RVC received NGs 1730-1733 when the 1800s came in.

Novabus 5000 Posted March 5, 2012 Author Share #43 Posted March 5, 2012 Nassau Owned Bus, so they can paint it instead of wrapping it. MTA owns the 1800's and IIRC 1769-1799 as well, so painting em' won't please the MTA. MTA owns 1760-1839.
Marctalky1 Posted March 5, 2012 Share #44 Posted March 5, 2012 MTA owns 1760-1839. Can we please not have this discussion again! Its going off topic and there is another thread for that topic about bus ownership.
mac5689 Posted March 5, 2012 Share #45 Posted March 5, 2012 Can we please not have this discussion again! Its going off topic and there is another thread for that topic about bus ownership. I know right, when I saw his post I was like 'here we go again'. With one post dedicated to that topic and the other one were it came up, I can't believe someone would bring it up in this one (though not totally surprised) I say let the question over ownership of 1760-1839 go, nothing good has come of it. The only thing that topic has done is bring nothing but trouble.
Burrstone Posted March 5, 2012 Share #46 Posted March 5, 2012 While not trying to get back on this topic, I do have a question tat spawns off it. Jack Khzouz has said the buses and properties are owned by Nassau County. He has been very informative to all of us here so I think he would need to lie or mislead anyone,IO also don't believe he would be mistaken about a subject this big, or at least find out before answering. Maybe someone can email him and ask specifically. truthfully I don't care anymore I thought I was helping when I emailed him and emailed me back a clear answer. Nassau Owned Bus, so they can paint it instead of wrapping it. MTA owns the 1800's and IIRC 1769-1799 as well, so painting em' won't please the MTA. Anyway, for the sake of argument let's say the owns them... Is it assumed they are to be used the rest life in Nassau County? If so what's the problem with painting them?

I don't think Veolia cares about pleasing the MTA, I think that ship has sailed when Veolia took over the contract. If so what's the problem with painting them? I don't think its assumed, but the doesn't want them. They weren't cared for as well as they should have been under Long Island Bus and because of that, their lives were probably shortened greatly. The knows that because Long Island Bus was looked down upon the last couple of years as things fell apart. Thats why some 1700s have problems now. Breakdowns are bound to happen with them and the doesn't want that in the city, so they loan them to the county who is desperate and stupid. However, just in case, the buses that if and are owned by the and rented to the county, will be wrapped last probably.
