Wallyhorse Posted March 23, 2014 Share #4036 Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) The NCAA championships are taking place in Madison Sq. Garden tonight. Plan for the extra crowds!!! As will actually happen this coming Friday (3/27). Since the regional semis have a habit of running past midnight and even 1:00 AM at times, here's how I would do it: runs express in Manhattan and Brooklyn all night. runs until 3:45 AM on full route in both directions. runs all night on its full route and is extended after service to Lefferts Boulevard would normally end there, replacing the late night shuttle. runs express in Brooklyn until 3:45 AM runs express in Queens until 3:45 AM runs full route until 3:45 AM in both directions. is extended to Ditmars Boulevard until 3:45 AM runs normal weekday service until normal end of such, then runs via the Manhattan Bridge all night PLUS runs a special single-track shuttle between DeKalb Avenue and Court Street until start of normal Saturday service. runs all night. runs express in Brooklyn TS-GC runs all night. Wallyhorse Posted March 25, 2014 Share #4037 Posted March 25, 2014 Next: The President decides to come into town and do a round-trip ceremonial subway ride between 207th Street station in Manhattan and the Coney Island platform, making stops to campaign for elected officials along the way, all in the middle of PM rush hour because it's the only time he could do it. But, since I'm bored, I'll do it: No service along the north of 59th and south of there, including any parallel tracks. service suspended where Obama's train runs on same/parallel tracks Manny B closed Senator Schumer's apartment building in Park Slope will be host to a protest of epic proportions, forcing him to launch a campaign to impeach Obama, as the millions of people unable to take the train will have swamped the streets of Park Slope New Yorkers will be so ticked at Obama's apathy that a Democrat will never again win New York's electoral votes Edited March 25, 2014 by cl94

In this case, obama's train will operate local in between the trains on the CPW local, and will change over to the 6th avenue line, running the route of the , and using the middle express track on the West End line to Coney Island. Though personally, I would like him to take the train there instead with other passengers. Also, I would bill him for all extra costs incurred by his "joyride", since I don't think public money should be used in campaigns.

TrainFanInfinity Posted March 27, 2014 Share #4042 Posted March 27, 2014 Well all you really have to do is make trains ahead of it local or express (depending on situation), and hold other trains at junctions such as DeKalb. Or have him take a bus instead.

Wallyhorse Posted April 7, 2014 Share #4046 Posted April 7, 2014 Getting this back on topic: Power is knocked out at Port Authority affecting all of the west side lines EXCEPT 6th Avenue at 42nd Street. At the same time, a second Power outage at the World Trade Center knocks out all subway service EXCEPT for the Nassau Street line, the only line unaffected by this. Reroute away!
