TrainFanInfinity Posted February 24, 2013 Share #3552 Posted February 24, 2013 A riot near 66th St. - Lincoln Center has closed the station due to big riot crowds. What would you do? trains bypass the 66th Street - Lincoln Center Station in both directions. HOW? There IS a way... Via Queensboro Plaza Interlocking, then via 60th Street Tunnel to 57th St-7th Ave, reverse to Lexington Avenue - 63rd Street, then via the to Lower East Side-2nd Avenue, then via CPW/Concourse to the Concourse Yard, then via Woodlawn Line to 125th Street - Lexington Avenue. But that's too long and complicated to get by, so yea, HOW?
Grand Concourse Posted February 24, 2013 Share #3553 Posted February 24, 2013 That can't happen because it doesn't 'just happen'. If there was a car shortage, the entire IRT would take a sort of hit to lessen the burden. Ie: the trains would be taken to make sure there is enough demand for the need. That's why I agree with Gorgor there.

Threxx Posted February 26, 2013 Share #3567 Posted February 26, 2013 It's been a while for me and this foamfest... Due to signal problems, switches at West 4th Street are stuck in the straight postion. This means all trains passing on the local track must pass 6th Avenue --> 8th Avenue northbound, and 8th Avenue --> 6th Avenue southbound. Use track maps to your benefit, and good luck. The switches north of the station are unaffected.
