RSMG106 Posted October 20, 2021 Share #5504 Posted October 20, 2021 With the LFS HEVs being out of service in Manhattan due to door issues, has any other transit agency outside of NY have issues with the slide and glide rear door on their buses?

MHV9218 Posted October 22, 2021 Share #5513 Posted October 22, 2021 It's funny, I wonder if they had to send exclusively NGs since the B/Os weren't trained on much else. You'd think an LFS would work as well as an LFS HEV, but...

(I know, they had RTS’s in the past) Every operator should be trained on the Novas and Xcelsiors. Or at least the new ones are.

Oh word, I forgot about that, I forget that goes back fifteen years or so. I'm trying to remember, I guess during snow loans it was all hybrids for MV, and they sent the diesels to MJQ. Last diesels were probably the RTSes you mention (what was that...2018? 2019?) and the QV LFSes that showed up on a weekday tripper a couple times even earlier.

I don't think we have Grumman buses in the 80s situation here. I will admit I've been following new bus orders since the NGs came in and this is the first time I seen them sideline an entire fleet after the buses started service.

1train2255railfan Posted October 22, 2021 Share #5520 Posted October 22, 2021 Mother Clara Hale has two OGs at the moment (6757, 6761). 6765, 6770, 6776, and 6786 (4 units) are all loaned to Tuskegee, but idk if Hale will reaccept them once the LFS HEVs return.

Try again another day, hey Queens still has a lot of OGs, just catch a ride on the Q22 or Q35 you'd have like an 95 percent chance of catching an OG.

SevenEleven Posted October 29, 2021 Share #5525 Posted October 29, 2021 The SIM23 and 24 will be operated out of Charleston Depot next pick, subject to approval by the MTA Board. Some 3000s are being transferred to Charleston at the moment to make service and will be replaced when the option order of the Prevosts are delivered.
