Amtrak7 Posted April 14, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2011 Made by tracing this (an official MTA image), plus Wikipedia logos/bullets and some hints from special timetables: Then I modified it to be the GO for this weekend. Codes are made up, text is taken from the online GO page. Note: this will NOT PRINT on a letter size piece of paper, it fits on legal size but does not fill the width. Could someone reliable please verify this against an actual GO poster to make sure all the placement/icons/text are correct? Once verification is received I will consider taking requests. Kriston Lewis Posted April 14, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 14, 2011 I feel like it's wider than legal. Copy the dimensions from this PDF.
LRG Posted April 14, 2011 Share #3 Posted April 14, 2011 Not bad, however for those subway posters all the subway bullets are in Akzidenz-Grotesk, not Helvetica. However the plain text is in Helvetica.
LRG Posted April 14, 2011 Share #4 Posted April 14, 2011 I feel like it's wider than legal. Copy the dimensions from this PDF. You're right; the dimensions for the posters are ledger (11" x 17"); legal is 8.5" x 14".
Amtrak7 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted April 14, 2011 I feel like it's wider than legal. Copy the dimensions from this PDF. Exact dimensions of mine are 7.5" x 13.78". That PDF is 11x17, tabloid size. Way too big. This isn't a poster, this is supposed to be a column/wall sign. Not bad, however for those subway posters all the subway bullets are in Akzidenz-Grotesk, not Helvetica. However the plain text is in Helvetica. Bullets are Wikipedia bullets, if they're wrong, mine will be wrong.
Kriston Lewis Posted April 14, 2011 Share #6 Posted April 14, 2011 11x17 is column size. Here is another PDF for guidance. Commuter Rail Version

mark1447 Posted April 14, 2011 Share #10 Posted April 14, 2011 Don't mean to the spotlight but... Looks good and legit! However, there is no box for the route sign.
Amtrak7 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Share #11 Posted April 14, 2011 When I expand mine to 11x17, there's lots of space on the side. How did you get HelveticaTransit?
Amtrak7 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Share #12 Posted April 14, 2011 Redid using 11x17 and the correct font:

Broadway Local Posted April 14, 2011 Share #14 Posted April 14, 2011 Que? He meant it's very good, but there is an train logo inside the box and that there shouldn't been a box there, just a logo. I like all the service changes posters!

Amtrak7 Posted April 15, 2011 Author Share #18 Posted April 15, 2011 Done and done. <removed to save space> Same as mine, but be careful which G/O's get the ADA notice. It's actually easier for me to do color, but I think they're all B/W. LIRR one (not based on LIRR sign, just an edited version of the sign). This is real GO and this will happen on that day! Maybe we can work together to fulfill requests in the future...
FamousNYLover Posted April 15, 2011 Share #19 Posted April 15, 2011 Can you make BxM2 and QM16 Service Change like these? http://www.mta.info/nyct/service/service_changes_B13.htm BxM2 QM16
Kriston Lewis Posted April 15, 2011 Share #20 Posted April 15, 2011 @Amtrak: I'm deliberately doing them in color. In addition, I'm leaving a few inaccuracies here and there to ward off MTA lawyers. All in all, very nice! You wanna take Yuki's request, or should I have at it?

All in all, very nice! You wanna take Yuki's request, or should I have at it? I already did the BxM2 (too late to edit). Kirston Lewis, you can take the QM16 one. (should we include the board meeting maps?)
Kriston Lewis Posted April 15, 2011 Share #24 Posted April 15, 2011 As far as including board meeting maps, if you can do it, by all means. I won't be including maps just yet. I need to round up some files first.
