Orion VII 4 Life Posted April 20, 2014 Share #11851 Posted April 20, 2014 Sorry if I'm throwing this off-topic, but I figured this was the place to address this. Academy isn't being any better with AE's former buses as I caught one on a charter just a few moments ago. Shame isn't it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Um, the AE buses aren't and never were owned by the city/state of NY. They aren't like the state buses in NJ and now that Academy owns them they can do whatever they want with them.
E For Erica Posted April 20, 2014 Share #11852 Posted April 20, 2014 Yeah I like the 2004 Orion VII's and your only 10 years late lol. Wish I rode them a lot earlier. When do you think they'll retire?
Priincenene Posted April 20, 2014 Share #11853 Posted April 20, 2014 Wish I rode them a lot earlier. When do you think they'll retire? It's been 10 Years, so I guess in like 2-3 years or so

NewFlyer 230 Posted April 21, 2014 Share #11860 Posted April 21, 2014 I was talking about the Orion VII Hybrids from Queens Village.I'm guessing they will be retired starting in 2018 continuing to 2022 or 2023 since the other models follow.
ScreechyFlange Posted April 21, 2014 Share #11861 Posted April 21, 2014 On top of that, some of the higher numbered green-signed ones has a slightly different engine, Gleason's units with the regular series 50G and the WF units with the Series 50 MK-G. The MK-Gs sound different from the regs. Can you tell me what's going on, I can't access the chat nor can I view or compose messages anymore.
Cait Sith Posted April 21, 2014 Share #11862 Posted April 21, 2014 Not sure, gotta ask the higher ups. On another note, 4445 was the bus in question that got into the accident that was reported in Staten Island. Calvin Posted April 22, 2014 Share #11864 Posted April 22, 2014 *Is it me or is that JFK always run their RTS on just the Q22 and 35?
NewFlyer 230 Posted April 22, 2014 Share #11865 Posted April 22, 2014 *Is it me or is that JFK always run their RTS on just the Q22 and 35? They also run on the other routes but mainly during rush hours. I don't really see that out that often on the weekends.
Far Rock Depot Posted April 22, 2014 Share #11866 Posted April 22, 2014 *Is it me or is that JFK always run their RTS on just the Q22 and 35? The last two times I went to visit I saw JFK RTS buses sitting in FR's lot as long as a D60! I have no clue what's going on anymore. I'm so outta the loop since moving upstate Sent from my Q10 using Tapatalk
Orion VII 4 Life Posted April 22, 2014 Share #11867 Posted April 22, 2014 *Is it me or is that JFK always run their RTS on just the Q22 and 35?The fleets between JFK/FR are constantly interchanged, which is why a good portion of the FR fleet now has JFK stickers and are getting them after repaints. FR is becoming once again basically an annex of JFK, it runs as its own depot for the most part yes but its buses are JFKs and can be running in FR 1 day then at JFK the next or the other way around (example 3563 was on the Q60 the other week, ran the Q35 today). Anyway most of JFK's RTSes have been running for FR as of late but JFK is losing a lot of them now the Q10 is all artic.
Culver Posted April 23, 2014 Share #11868 Posted April 23, 2014 5111 sounds like shit. The engine is rickety as all hell, the transmission is wobbly and makes grinding noises, and the whole thing moves like a rusted out 1970s British car.

4P3607 Posted April 23, 2014 Share #11871 Posted April 23, 2014 That photo is a lie. 1) That bus is on the System Reserve side, with a whole bunch of other Orion V CNGs which are already scrapped. 2) 9899 still has it's ads, and does not have bold numbering on the left side. 3) I passed by Lot C at College Point depot last night, and saw 9899 and 9905 there. Nice photoshop to whoever did it. Obviously they are too impatient too see it there in a few months. Speaking of Orion V CNGs, 9849 is back in service. Chances are you'll see it on the Q65 in the morning / early afternoon and/or the Q53 after 7 pm.
NYSubwayBuff Posted April 23, 2014 Share #11872 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) What do the run numbers on the bus stand for. Like what does run 420 out of ulmer park mean Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk Edited April 23, 2014 by NYSubwayBuff

It's bad enough some people go on every single day like their life depends on it and never leave him alone... It's a public bus line, what's the big secret? It's a shame if the guy gets harassed, but to me it just sounds like extra fares for the MTA.
Calvin Posted April 23, 2014 Share #11875 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) How come I saw 4025 on the Q23 as 4020-4029 is for the Q70? Btw, is LGA routes still using CP C40LFs? Edited April 23, 2014 by Calvin
