MHV9218 Posted October 13, 2012 Share #2976 Posted October 13, 2012 Why is it that just about every single 126th NG has a big scar on the driver side of the bus right in the middle? Are they all sideswiping the same curb or something?
Quill Depot Posted October 14, 2012 Share #2977 Posted October 14, 2012 Which you really can't do to a certain degree. I see... they could run up 7th and down 6th... but that's unlikely. Better off running them buses thru crowds. Why is it that just about every single 126th NG has a big scar on the driver side of the bus right in the middle? Are they all sideswiping the same curb or something? Maybe they hit the same curb right outta 126th.
checkmatechamp13 Posted October 14, 2012 Share #2978 Posted October 14, 2012 There was a topic a while back talking about which routes you've rode. I can't seem to find it. I found this one, but the one I'm thinking of is a longer one (I remember B35 & FamousNYLover posted in that one, if that helps) Anyway, since this is a random throughts thread, I might as well put my updated list up here. LMAO I was kidding man those are the routes that go through all the dangerous neighborhoods...traffic on Webster Avenue isn't an issue all, you just have some bottleneck areas like by the Cross Bronx Expressway on ramp, Fordham Road, Gun Hill Road, oh and the treacherous un-synced traffic lights b/w 169th and 171st. It's a span of only 3 blocks yet it takes over 5 minutes to get through. I really don't care what type of area the route passes through. I eventually intend on fanning the full B6 out of East NY, but that's not happening until they send that damn limited back out there instead of cutting it back to Canarsie. And this past Friday I rode the B83 out of Broadway Junction, not to mention the S46 (Most of the route is alright, but the worst is between Broadway & Nicholas Avenue), which I ride on a regular basis, so I think I can handle it. I mean, 99% of the people on those routes will leave you alone. How's the Bx26? That looks like it would be a good ride going through the park and everything. The only problem is that it ends in an area with no subway service, so it's harder to get back home, but I guess I could take the opportunity to fan the Bx12 +SBS+ (I'd probably ride it out to Jerome Avenue for the ). What are the traffic spots on the Bx12?

SevenEleven Posted October 14, 2012 Share #2994 Posted October 14, 2012 Since when do OG's run on the M104? Because Quill has OGs? No really, if a depot has a particular fleet, it has every chance of popping up on a route even if it's dominated by the other fleets.
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted October 14, 2012 Share #2995 Posted October 14, 2012 Since when do OG's run on the M104? Since when Manhattanville got them. I've seen Manhattanville OG's the the M104 for about 3 years. Today I was observing X17 and X27 service at 23 street and Brodaway from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Several things I noticed Most X27 buses to Bay Ridge were empty, probably it got some ridership south of 23 street Most Riders on the X27 get off along 23 street towards Manhattan X17 ridership to Manhattan looks pretty good, Six people on one trip and 4 in another X10 ridership varies by bus towards Manhattan One bus can pass with 15 people, then the other passes with 4 people , than the following with 13 people An X1 had one rider on heading to SI. As people get used to it X17 and X27 ridership on Sundays will hopefully expand.

You're acting like the expert on that route, talking about the entire purpose of the route and the ridership and all that and you've never even set foot on it. Meanwhile, it's a route I use on a regular basis. "I was around before the S89 was even implemented". Like that's an accomplishment. The route was only implemented 5 years ago (I remember the exact date: 9/4/07). I should hope you're more than 5 years old, though sometimes I wonder...... "Not to mention how much I'm out and about on Richmond Avenue". Uh, OK, I don't see how that's relevant. You haven't physically rode the route and aside from that it's impossible for you to have been there more than I have because that's my neighborhood. You're not going to be more knowledgeable about it than me. -------------------------------- In any case, if I don't go up to The Bronx, my next fantrip will likely be the S53-B8-B15-Q10 (yes, I know the B8 doesn't directly connect to the S53).
