FamousNYLover Posted March 29, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 29, 2011 They forgot the express buses from Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island as well as M15 buses.
3rd Avenue El Posted March 29, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 29, 2011 They forgot the express buses from Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island as well as M15 buses. i heard on my scanner that the M15 was going to be rerouted through the FDR drive so the reroute would not be complicated and would not take to long. as they say +SELECT BUS+ needs to be fast. [small joke]
FamousNYLover Posted March 29, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 29, 2011 I think it properly not going to reroute. On last President visit, M15 Local/SBS were on regular street with heavey delays. Which FDR Drive? There's no way bus could use FDR Drive north of 42nd St Exit.
Fresh Pond Posted March 29, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 29, 2011 They are make the 42 St stop on 40/41 Sts, then all buses are gonna use the 1 Av tunnel
mark1447 Posted March 29, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 29, 2011 Idk whats the purpose of a random thought thread for buses as we can make a thread for discussion or use the other random thought. But anyways .. DOT still has to fix a few bus signs around. They got an M2 sign at 147th/Bway....... West Farms has an rts #8947........ And man i wish the Q44 was an +SBS!

EE Broadway Local Posted March 30, 2011 Author Share #10 Posted March 30, 2011 Hi mark1447! Grand Concourse and PATCOMan made a friendly suggestion in a thread I started that I thought sounded good and had merit to try. I thought a Subway and a Bus Random Thoughts Thread might actually help reduce a lot of these little service change, service alert, 12-9 and random threads that have been appearing by giving members a thread to post them in. If a member then reads them and wishes to comment, that's wondful. Maybe help to reduce some of the clutter, so to speak. Some of these - especially service changes and alerts are short term. Idk whats the purpose of a random thought thread for buses as we can make a thread for discussion or use the other random thought.
Forest Glen Posted March 30, 2011 Share #11 Posted March 30, 2011 After 11 PM, there seems to be a 2 to 1 ratio of Q4's to Q85's. I'm going to start taking the Q5 when I travel after 11 PM.
Infamous85 Posted March 30, 2011 Share #12 Posted March 30, 2011 After 11 PM, there seems to be a 2 to 1 ratio of Q4's to Q85's. I'm going to start taking the Q5 when I travel after 11 PM. It's like that in the afternoon/evening as well. It really annoys me, especially knowing that the Q85 carries more people. I'm not even gonna speak on the Q5, lol stupid bus comes every 30 seconds.
FamousNYLover Posted March 30, 2011 Share #13 Posted March 30, 2011 When I was getting signature from N4 Riders, N4 riders were not happy because all N4 buses getting crowded all the time with SRO. Some people had to wait for next bus. If they cut N1/N2/N8, N4 and N6 will get more crowd, which could make worst.
Joel Up Front Posted March 30, 2011 Share #14 Posted March 30, 2011 It's always cool to sit at a terminal and watch a convoy of buses rolling in to start another run or to take passengers.
Q43LTD Posted March 30, 2011 Share #15 Posted March 30, 2011 Nassau needs to put more money into its buses. Mangano needs to go to hell
FamousNYLover Posted March 30, 2011 Share #16 Posted March 30, 2011 i wish the bx19 was +SELECT BUS SERVICE+ the street is wide enough for it and its perfect. just wish it would happen. i mean its perfect the ridership and operating hours come on. Bx19 also serves narrow street under EL, so it might be very tight.
4P3607 Posted March 31, 2011 Share #17 Posted March 31, 2011 arent LGA's RTS more than 20 years old already? thats what one of the drivers there said. and now LGA is getting more of them . btw I spotted 8009 at LGA, I dunno if thats a new arrival or not. Also all the buses now have the new "plane" signage for the Q72. Only the Ex-Bee's don't have them.

Joel Up Front Posted April 1, 2011 Share #20 Posted April 1, 2011 All the NG CNGs here and some bus operators are wearing TWU Local 252 pins. The last NG I got off of Wednesday had "Local Jobs for Local People" taped on the back of the bus.
R42 M Train Posted April 1, 2011 Share #21 Posted April 1, 2011 arent LGA's RTS more than 20 years old already? thats what one of the drivers there said.and now LGA is getting more of them B). btw I spotted 8009 at LGA, I dunno if thats a new arrival or not. Also all the buses now have the new "plane" signage for the Q72. Only the Ex-Bee's don't have them. No the LGA RTS are not 20 years old. They had 20 year old TMCs which were retired 2 years ago. The oldest bus is 8750 which is from 1995 and is also at LGA. I saw it on the Q67 today. Now that Im thinking about, 101, the oldest EBL bus might be older since there also 1995 models.
