So far, Jamaica Depot has almost finished their Nova swap with the exception of 3 8700s at Castleton that are out of service. Queens Village is in the current process of moving the 8900 units over to Yukon. Although, Casey Stengel won't take part of this swap. Most of the newer LFS are over there and at MTA Bus Company.

As of this moment, the plan (which is 100% subject to change) is for JA and QV to receive XE40s to retire the 2011 LFS. There doesn't seem to be a future XD40 order according to the capital plan. CS will be forced to keep those 88 LFS for a very long time. It seems like the DOB wants to keep CS mixed fleet long-term-wise. If CS were to lose all their 88 LFS, my guess is they would end up at Castleton to retire the 3Gs. However, there are not enough Xcelsiors in the system for that to happen.

Jamaica will receive some XE40s as the MTA has already paid for charger installation at the depot. The bigger question is whether or not QV is allotted XE40s.

It doesn't make much sense to keep QV fully LFS as Nova will leave the market in 2025 and QV has LFS to retire in the upcoming years. They are bound to receive something that is not a LFS.

They can easily do something weird like moving the hybrids in The Bronx and/or Manhattan over to QV to keep it strictly Novas only for as much as they can.

This, but i do think CS will get new Xcelsiors in the future to push out their 2022 LFS to QV and JA. It would make better sense to keep Jamaica and QV all LFS. Even the LFSe could go to both of those depots once their upgraded. JA Xcelsiors (the remaining ones) should be moved. Had JA and QV kept their 2022 units, Besides JA (electric buses) , QV wouldn't need anymore new buses for a good while Since the priority would be Brooklyn to push out their remaining Next gens and retire their 2011 XD40s.

There's more than enough LFS that are newer where they can make Queens (mainly JA/QV all LFS)

QV getting more 2015 LFS as much i don't agree with it makes more sense due to them having more newer LFS vs Jamaica.

JA is getting XE40s no matter what. There are only 5 LFSe+ on order as nova is leaving the market. JA needs to retire the LFS and there is no point in keeping JA fully nova especially when nova has left the market.

That can change, (MTA) is strapped for cash and Congestion pricing is in limbo. Electric buses are very expensive so that might change. (MTA) can say one thing and do something different. We didn't expect bot JA/QV to lose their newest buses but yet they are losing them. Things change and with the whole electric buses thing, that could change too just like the assignments with the current electric bus order.

The MTA had already purchased the XE40s. The purchase is final. JA’s electric equipment installation is final. JA will receive XE40s to retire the 2011 LFS. That is exactly why JA has kept 16 XD40s. They need them to keep up with qualifications.

The purchase is final, but as you should know by now assiginments can (and will) always change.
