Quill Depot Posted January 17, 2015 Share #8477 Posted January 17, 2015 So that means the cover under and above the 3rd Rail aren't conductive? Because if you go to YouTube and search Urban Exploration New York City Underground you see the guy clearly is able to climb on it without getting the life zapped out of him. MHV9218 Posted January 18, 2015 Share #8481 Posted January 18, 2015 Curious about trains pulling out of the station early--I was on the 00:12 southbound out of 207th last night, and it pulled out at 00:09. The train hit every station (145, 125, etc.) exactly on the schedule time points after that (until construction south of 59th), which made me wonder if the schedule the MTA provides isn't possible to follow and that's why the train left early. [if it had left at 00:12, one assumes it would have run 3 minutes late.] For what it's worth, the bell sounded at 207 at about 00:08, and the C/R jogged into the cab, so there was definitely a hurry.

MysteriousBtrain Posted January 20, 2015 Share #8486 Posted January 20, 2015 I was riding an R142 train, and I saw that it had a completely updated Strip map that included the M60 SBS, B44 SBS, and Bleecker Street as an ADA accessible station: That was not the only new thing that the map showed. There is something hidden under the at 86 Street and the at Utica Avenue: At first, I was confused about what it held, but then I came up with one solution: THE NEXT SBS ROUTES ARE REVEALED!!! Why else would they have a covered spot under the and ? The spots are there for when the B46 and M86 are ready for SBS. I mean, 86 Street and Utica Avenue are some of the corridors that are most talked about right? Sadly, I could not find any new Strip maps for the and , but expect them to come soon.

BronxBombers Posted January 20, 2015 Share #8488 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) BTrain that's possibly the transfer for the at 86 Street. There is no transfer between the 2nd Avenue line and the Lex Line.. except for 125th. EDIT: and 55th and 42nd. MysteriousBtrain Posted January 20, 2015 Share #8489 Posted January 20, 2015 BTrain that's possibly the transfer for the at 86 Street.BronxBombers is right. There is no way that an in system transfer is gonna be made at 86 Street just to connect to the Lex at this time. The connection to Lex will be made in phrase 2 and at 125 Street.
Lance Posted January 21, 2015 Share #8490 Posted January 21, 2015 Yeah, it has to be the new SBS routes as nothing else makes any sense for a transfer in those locations. It's about time they completely replaced the line maps. They were looking ratty with all of those update stickers on them. Nice catch B.

Javier Posted January 21, 2015 Share #8492 Posted January 21, 2015 Speaking of strip maps a R142 subway car STILL has the strip map from the 2000's.
MysteriousBtrain Posted January 21, 2015 Share #8493 Posted January 21, 2015 Speaking of strip maps a R142 subway car STILL has the strip map from the 2000's. Very rarely, you could find a few old strip maps on almost every line that has R142/As. Not to long ago, I saw an R142A with an orange at Bleecker Street.

cl94 Posted January 22, 2015 Share #8499 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) Is it possible for a train to go via the then via the ? No. Connections at W4 are only between the local tracks, which have no access to the Manny B heading SB. Why there isn't a switch there is beyond me, because it would certainly add a lot of flexibility. *Edit: A can use Brighton (the south of DeKalb, as it is accessible to all 4 bridge tracks as well as the tunnel tracks. The does this exact routing. Edited January 22, 2015 by cl94

Fitting the Chrystie St connection in required the removal of that scissors crossover, which was just east (railroad south) of Broadway-Lafayette St.
