MTA Dude Posted January 10, 2015 Share #8401 Posted January 10, 2015 Is it me or is that Lexington Av has problems whenever I'm on sometimes? Like today track fire on the train track to 125 st, use instead, packed on all trains Lex always has problems. Funny story yesterday, I took the HCHS test, and I took the at Lex-63rd St. Man, is that station deep! Anyway, my friend decided to "summon" a train to arrive, and it did, but as an R46, and I was like, you just had to summon an R46? And he was like, sorry, I don't have powers to summon NTT's. LOL!
Javier Posted January 10, 2015 Share #8402 Posted January 10, 2015 Just a quick thought- If the will ever get NTT's, will they extend 148 Street Platforms?

Javier Posted January 11, 2015 Share #8404 Posted January 11, 2015 Same reason NTT's can't be on the , because all the doors on a R142 have to open, not just 5 cars.
ttcsubwayfan Posted January 11, 2015 Share #8405 Posted January 11, 2015 Same reason NTT's can't be on the , because all the doors on a R142 have to open, not just 5 cars. Wow. Awesome. Seriously, how the hell did you come up with that one? The NTTs can open the first 5 cars just like the SMEEs. The doesn't run NTTs because it doesn't need to. The R62As hold down service just fine.

Many people mentioned it already the reason the R142's are not on the 1 is because the crew is not trained to use em, and after an incident involving all the doors opening (oh those darn conductors are up to it again ) they are not allowed on the , idk what the policy for the 3 is tho Edited January 11, 2015 by NYSubwayBuff
Lance Posted January 11, 2015 Share #8407 Posted January 11, 2015 It actually has little to do with that. Otherwise, the 1 would've received 142s when the new platform at South Ferry opened. The 1 and 3 never received new tech trains because they weren't needed on those lines. When the new cars started arriving in 2000, both the 1 and 3 were using the relatively new 62As while the busier 2, 4, 5 and 6 lines were stuck with the aging redbirds. That little detail still holds true today with the 2 being a more demanding line than the 1 and 3. The Lex needs no explanation why it deserves NTTs. The only reason why the 6 is losing its newer cars is out of sheer necessity. When it comes time to replace the 62s and 62As, then and only then will you see new trains on the 1 and 3 lines regularly. That will also probably apply to the 68s and the D.
Q43LTD Posted January 11, 2015 Share #8408 Posted January 11, 2015 I kinda feel sorry for QB riders. First 2 weekends of 2015, no express service. But it gets better. to 179 for the next 2 weekends and via 53 SB

But it gets better. to 179 for the next 2 weekends and via 53 SB Yup. That on QBL is so time consuming. The express saves 10 minutes! And I'm one of those people who think that even 2 skipped stops on an express is important.
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted January 11, 2015 Share #8410 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) That's why I take the express bus! Maybe I'll switch it up if there's cross honoring on the LIRR. Edited January 11, 2015 by BM5 via Woodhaven
Javier Posted January 11, 2015 Share #8411 Posted January 11, 2015 I think someone got a little to foamy and stole a R62 Rollsign from a train cause now it has only one side rollsign and the only thing that's left of it is the cover! Has this ever happened before?

MHV9218 Posted January 11, 2015 Share #8416 Posted January 11, 2015 It's not just roll signs, a R62 car is missing ALL of its stickers. Its stickers? What do you mean? There's zero chance a vandal peeled all of those off, cause it'd take a year. If you mean the line maps, those are removed by the barn staff.
Javier Posted January 12, 2015 Share #8417 Posted January 12, 2015 That R143 video was NUTS! That guy was yelling like crazy! It's a shame that we didn't get to hear the announcements. What I want to know is why did it say the next stop was Beach 90 Street?

The 143s probably don't have an via the line program. Also the C/R changed it to the regular line program shorty after the doors opened, so you wouldn't have heard the announcements anyway.
