MysteriousBtrain Posted January 1, 2015 Share #8326 Posted January 1, 2015 What delays? It would be the same exact thing like you have at Bowling Green. Not really....The trains end at City Hall. If a was to come in at the same as a if it was express at Canal Street, the two lines would have to wait for one to pass for the other to terminate. If a was waiting at the express tracks, that would mean that the and would have to wait for the to go, causing delays. Let's not forget 125th Street. The crossovers would have all the lines delayed because they are waiting for one train to pass for the other line to continue it's route.

paulrivera Posted January 1, 2015 Share #8330 Posted January 1, 2015 Even then, the track capacity is maxed out on the Lex. The only way any trains are going to run express on Lexington the most efficiently (other than emergency reroutes) is by effectively having the / swap with the (ie: 4/5 to Brooklyn Bridge via local, 6 to Utica and 6X to Flatbush via express), and we're not just going to change service just because with no net gain. The service pattern is fine as is and has been for 100 years, and will be for 100 more. What is needed is more capacity, but in the meantime I hear they're going to add more platform C/R's. IDK what that will accomplish, but that's the new plan supposedly.
Javier Posted January 1, 2015 Share #8331 Posted January 1, 2015 Speaking of switching, how come the and always switch terminals or lines? I think of them as a married couple. This is what I think of the subway lines: = Lone Wolf, broke up with = Married to = Lone wolf = Brother to , sister to = Brother to , sister to , married to = sister to . = Brother to = Brother to = Broke Up with , moved to the train yard in the sky. = Brother to . Just because I don't want to spam, should I go on?

YankeesPwnMets Posted January 2, 2015 Share #8348 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Those LEDs have been there for years. The R62As used to use roll signs that designated them as / but the LEDs are a much better way of indicating express/local Edited January 2, 2015 by YankeesPwnMets
Javier Posted January 2, 2015 Share #8349 Posted January 2, 2015 Even though on the roll sign they leave it as because the bullet is smaller and can be seen unlike the bullet.
paulrivera Posted January 2, 2015 Share #8350 Posted January 2, 2015 via 7th tends to happen more I think, but then again the Lex tends to have more crowding and more problems. It seems like we can't go by one week without seeing a via 7th Avenue.
