Javier Posted December 27, 2014 Share #8276 Posted December 27, 2014 Anyway, I did a little snooping on that Polo Grounds Shuttle, but all I found was the spur that leads off the line. I tried following the ROW but it would give me dead ends. After the Polo Ground Shuttle left the line, it went through the spur and into Anderson Ave, altough I dont see anything due to the large stadium in front of me. I cant even find the Anderson station. I tried going through Sedgwick Ave Station, but both tunnels are completely sealed off. How did the Polo Ground Shuttle Tour manage to do it?

paulrivera Posted December 27, 2014 Share #8279 Posted December 27, 2014 I feel pity for anyone who's been riding the or trains this weekend... No trains, the is not running south of Brooklyn Bridge while the part that is running is making all local stops, and there's an event at Yankee Stadium today. One of the downsides to running a 24/7 system in a 24/7 city I guess... [sarcasm] Maybe it's a conspiracy: by capping weekend subway service, enough people can be driven to take the LIRR/MNRR/Express bus and the MTA can make more money off those fares. [/sarcasm]

Javier Posted December 28, 2014 Share #8284 Posted December 28, 2014 Not on this one, my motorman friend once tried to program a R142 when he was relaying and set it to the Train, and it worked. The code is in there, it just needs to be set manually.

Javier Posted December 28, 2014 Share #8287 Posted December 28, 2014 Guys, I'm serious. You guys don't want to believe me, that's fine, that's your decision. There's a Conductor Exam coming up in June, hopefully I'll be able to attend.

Quill Depot Posted December 28, 2014 Share #8289 Posted December 28, 2014 I mean if one runs on the 5 days a week, and the is all IND, shouldn't that tell you something? Or the fact that the R68's dominate the IND and there is only an R68 on the every now and then. Also, Javier you should buy a camera or take a picture of these things. Cause for now it's "no picture no proof."
Javier Posted December 28, 2014 Share #8290 Posted December 28, 2014 Trust me, if i charged my iPhone all the way I would have taken the pictures, but it dies like 2 minutes before the train came in the station.

Javier Posted December 29, 2014 Share #8292 Posted December 29, 2014 So, at the Transit HighSchool, do they allow students to go inside and change the roll sign or fix them, etc?

MysteriousBtrain Posted December 29, 2014 Share #8294 Posted December 29, 2014 Why don't you go there and see how long you last in that school? How do you even get in... is it like any other HS in NYC?
trainfan22 Posted December 29, 2014 Share #8295 Posted December 29, 2014 They let students play with the intercom and buzzer on the R42 there so I don't see they wouldn't let students play with the roll signs assuming they have the tool to change it. As for how you get in, you apply to it like any other HS.
MysteriousBtrain Posted December 29, 2014 Share #8296 Posted December 29, 2014 Ok, another question I have is can other people not involved in the school be able to visit this R42 and mess with the rollsigns?

Fresh Pond Posted December 30, 2014 Share #8300 Posted December 30, 2014 I can do my homework and I live in Yonkers any the Transit high School is in Brooklyn. The edge of Brooklyn, damn near near Queens. If you live in Yonkers, you're probably not gonna be able to get into a NEW YORK CITY public school for the simple fact that you're outside of NYC jurisdictions. I used to work in Yonkers. The commute was damn near 2 hours each way...I know damn well you not gonna spend 2 hours commuting to/from school just to play with a damn train
