Grand Concourse Posted February 24, 2013 Share #2401 Posted February 24, 2013 He is talking about at the moment. Of course the numbers will go up eventually. I dunno what the argument is here. 1 train out of 28 is still rare unless someone changed the definition of 'rare'. That said, as someone who used to ride r62as on an almost frequent basis on the 6 in the early 2000s, I am in no hurry to go out to finding that train. I'll wait till more comes to the 6.
Orion VII 4 Life Posted February 24, 2013 Share #2402 Posted February 24, 2013 I've been told that the R62As were only on the because of a 12-9 that happened right before the GO started. So, chances are they won't run next weekend.

I dunno what the argument is here. 1 train out of 28 is still rare unless someone changed the definition of 'rare'. Bingo. Otherwise, when the first R188 comes out and people are flocking to catch it in a sea of R62As (I will do no such thing), the same argument could be used... 'So and so amount are projected to arrive in so and so time no it's not really rare anymore.' That said, as someone who used to ride r62as on an almost frequent basis on the 6 in the early 2000s, I am in no hurry to go out to finding that train. I'll wait till more comes to the 6. I suppose it would differ, really, based on if the person has witnessed the event before or not.
CircularSquare Posted February 24, 2013 Share #2404 Posted February 24, 2013 Is there a place showing train frequencies per line? I've heard various snippets of information, but no organized thing.
R188 7857 Posted February 25, 2013 Share #2405 Posted February 25, 2013 First R188? A bunch of out there... Again, "Stand clear of the foaming doors please" lmfao...

4P3607 Posted February 25, 2013 Share #2408 Posted February 25, 2013 I don't think the R62As will be out on the for the weekends to come, Im pretty sure it was due to that 12-9 that happen about an hour before the G.O. started. Because of the 12-9, I bet most trains were stuck up in the Bronx, and they used whatever was down in Manhattan / Brooklyn (Kind of like right after the Hurricane with those R62 (4)s).
Fresh Pond Posted February 25, 2013 Share #2409 Posted February 25, 2013 We are well aware. However, the runs around 28 trains per hour. When only one of those trains is an R62A, it is still quite rare. It generally comes out around the same time every day (if they decide to put it out), so its really not all THAT rare
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted February 25, 2013 Share #2410 Posted February 25, 2013 Great, someone jumped I'm front of a train at Northern Blvd, causing massive delays. Guess Im gonna have to use the QM10 today instead.
nmastropierro25 Posted February 25, 2013 Share #2411 Posted February 25, 2013 What's wrong with the 68s? i just dont like them. i just think that its time for a change. i mean they're fine but they should have at least two R160 trains running on every line.
ttcsubwayfan Posted February 25, 2013 Share #2412 Posted February 25, 2013 The MTA does not owe you NTTs. Unless you wish to pay a premium fare, which I highly doubt.

True then again it depends the person we both may have rode R62As when they were on the in the 2000s but there is that somebody that have never rode or experienced R62As on the so they may be in a hurry to get them.

Nope no more left those R62As are back on the the only reason the R62As were on the was cause of a g.o but by next weekend there should be R142s transfered to serve from 96st to flatbush on the .

Subwayfan12 Posted February 25, 2013 Share #2420 Posted February 25, 2013 Random question What are Flat wheels? What is the purpose of it and does it make the train ride better? All I know is that it makes this loud and weird noise when the train is in motion

All I know is that it makes this loud and weird noise when the train is in motion Flat wheels are when a train doesn't stop correctly thus causing the wheels to have flat spots... Its common on the Brighton line during leaf season and it causes the wheels to slip...

Grand Concourse Posted February 26, 2013 Share #2423 Posted February 26, 2013 It's not like you can just take the whole train out of service for it. Just run it to the terminal and assess if it is ok enough to run it to the other end of the line or send to the yard for a replacement.

God how I loathe those pieces of crap. Propulsion sounds nice, though.
