Guest lance25 Posted January 31, 2011 Share #26 Posted January 31, 2011 According to the track maps, the southbound Nassau Street line track goes under the northbound Broadway track to meet the southbound track.

CenSin Posted February 1, 2011 Share #28 Posted February 1, 2011 I would ignore the online track maps, the person who updated them didn't seem to bother to consult the up to date versions of the book or any other source. I found one mistake already…
Nova RTS 9147 Posted February 1, 2011 Share #29 Posted February 1, 2011 I found one mistake already… Which one? Asides from the 1 having to reverse on the same track it came in without switching over....
CenSin Posted February 1, 2011 Share #30 Posted February 1, 2011 Which one? Asides from the 1 having to reverse on the same track it came in without switching over.... The new tracks are supposed to cross at grade with the old tracks.
MikeGerald Posted February 1, 2011 Share #31 Posted February 1, 2011 The person who created the track maps often used on NYCSubway.ORG website years ago stopped updating those maps, in favor of producing the book that he (Peter Dougherty) sells about the "Tracks Of The Subway." Those track maps in those books are the ones that get updated regularly. On the NYCSubway.ORG website- Peter Dougherty said years ago that he was donating those maps to the website, but that he would no longer update them. Over time, others have made changes to keep some of the maps updated, but there is not a consistent effort. When the new terminal for the #1 was being debated and planned, for a while it was unclear just where the new terminal would fit, and how it would be attached. Yes, on the #1 line, the tracks for the new terminal do cross at grade from the tracks that lead to the old South Ferry Loop station. Just think of it as similar to the at grade junction for the #2 and #3 lines about 142nd Street - north of the 135th Street station. The R and M train tracks south of Whitehall Street, and south of Broad Street do not cross at grade. The Brooklyn bound R track goes down a bit, and the Manhattan bound R track goes up a bit, and a switch from both tracks head toward the Broad Street station -- all of this occurs just off the piers at the southern tip of Manhattan.
