Hello Everyone,

I was up in South Amboy today and took some photos. I was not up there very long but I was able to look at the construction work on the South Amboy Station.

Here are the photos.

So how do you get on the train? Walk across the ballast to the doors?

Little of topic but is Hazlet still low level?

Yep all you do is walk across the ballast to the doors. Hazlet is high level. I'm not sure when it was converted though.

Awesome shots Eric, so tell me, what are they exactly doing in regards to construction over there? I see another track with cement ties, behind the gates?(NJT)

From What I know they are converting South Amboy station into a High Level Platform for the North Jersey Coast Line trains. The platform will be a center Island Platform. The side track that is north of the station is called the Church Running track. This is what the local freight train WPSA31 uses to access the North Jersey Coast Line. The track is not yet connected to the NJCL yet. I guess that track will be connected once the platform work is complete.
