Dan05979 Posted June 6, 2010 Share #27 Posted June 6, 2010 I would buy that and get it running again, I got my diesel engine skills. I see that bus all the time when i'm running down flatlands and fountain ave's along with some vintage school buses in that yard.

R110B Posted June 14, 2010 Share #29 Posted June 14, 2010 Wirelessly posted via (Mozilla/5.0 (Danger hiptop 4.6; U; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050920) That's a diesel...and I would but it but I'm broke, have limited mechanic skills, and no license lol I know how you feel lol Somewhere behind the peeling paint, flat tires, dead engine, and hole in the side, you'll find it It survived this long, I don't see what's stopping it now Well nobody has the mecanics to fix it so its dead and will stay that way for while. Q101 E Midtown Posted July 7, 2011 Share #31 Posted July 7, 2011 I wish I had the money to buy it and restore it. That could be a project for Millenium Transit Service. XD

Green Lines 96 Posted July 10, 2011 Share #42 Posted July 10, 2011 Around 2001 there were more Command 1984 RTS's There was a picture taken on June 3, 2001 in one section of the lot showing Varsity 704 which was an ex-Command 35x 1984 GMC RTS. There was 354. 351 was also there too. There was also Green Lines 1003, 1005, 1006, 1007, 1009, 1013, and 1015. 1007 was removed sometime during 2002-2003 and the rest were sent to Arverne Garage (now MTA Far Rockaway Depot) in 2003 and removed in 2006 along with a few Varsity Fishbowls and 2 Orion I's. I'm not sure about the rest of the Command/Varsity 1984 RTS's there. Green Lines 1012 was not in Varsity untill about 2006 because Green Lines used it for Training/Special. Same goes with Jamaica Buses 3001. I'm not sure about the Command Fishbowls there now.

I'm way too late, Jamaica 3001 is at some museum in PA and has been there for a few years and I don't think the Command Fishbowls are there. 351 and 1012 I know are there. Green Lines 96 Posted July 29, 2011 Share #47 Posted July 29, 2011 That is in definatly better condition than that one. When 1012 was used as Training for Green Lines during 2000-2006 it actually looked better in condition than the buses used for actual service but this was mainly because the RTS-03's Green Lines had including 1012 were retired from passenger service in 2000 and before 2000 the Green Lines buses looked like they were in better condition but the GMC RTS's were still a bit dirty and dented but not like the final years before MTA takeover. There also wasn't many scrapped buses during the late 1990's mostly 1997-1999 but during that time they were receiving new buses such as the Orion V's as well as buses (mostly RTS) from other companies and the more recent (at that time) buses such as the Orion V's and 1994 TMC's were not being sent to Arverne Garage (MTA Far Rockaway Depot) as that depot always got the older or bad buses of GBL and messed them up. In 2000 they started sending the 1994 TMC's and 1997 Orions back and forth from JFK to Arverne and those buses were getting damaged. I never rode a Far Rockaway/Arverne route unless you count Q8 since it was split with JFK.
KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted July 29, 2011 Share #48 Posted July 29, 2011 That bus is done!!! Just like Command! Command is as dead as that bus is. Let KR comment and defend the Private Bus Lines here As for me and all the Die Hard PBL OPERATORS that have been around when it was Private cough cough ....You have to get rid of us first in order for it to be official in our heads so please ....I know this Train op and this Skaterboy are not Bus Operations so having said please respect the PBL ops that paved the way and that Continue to make service for the Metro Area ....So great catch Ducky and KR knows excatly where this is also great find  A look at some great Privates that served you and that will convert back to its Origin ...LIB .....A Big shoutout to my PBL ops out there.I still bear the QSC patch and Spring Creek and ECH ops I know also wear there repective Depots patch WITH PRIDE
Green Lines 96 Posted July 29, 2011 Share #49 Posted July 29, 2011 April 2001 Buses from other DOT companies in June 2001 351 in 2004 As you can see in these pictures, the Varsity yard was actually the equivalent to Eastchester where buses from various DOT companies were sent for Storage and/or scrap. This used to be Command's Bus depot before moving to the now Spring Creek Depot in 1999. After 1999 buses from Various DOT Companies got sent here.
