Fan Railer Posted April 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2010 Right now, the R160 order is finalized at 1662 cars. that is enough to replace the cars they've already retired, and add growth cars, although those growth cars will ultimately go toward replacing the R44 cars. the R179 contract on the table is specifying 290 cars for replacing the remaining R32 and R42 cars in 2015 (meaning they'll probably go through SMS to lengthen their useful lifespan), plus another 50 cars as growth. if the MTA has the money by 2015, and decides to replace the R46, then they'll probably just tack on another 950 cars or so to the R179 order. Y2Julio Posted April 25, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 25, 2010 He is not talking about the R160. He is talking about the blue seats in the R46.
R44 CNG Posted April 25, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted April 25, 2010 I think they are trying to say that by the time all these seats get painted blue the R46 will probably be retired and replaced:confused:
