^ Those side ads are coming though, first the NGs and now some of the Quill OGs have side ads.

Those XD40's and C40LF's are still naked. I don't see any place where those ad's can go except the roof. Or they can do the whole bus wrap thing like they used to do with the Orion V CNG's, Orion V's and RTS.
Huh? The C40LFs can easily do ads on both sides and the most recent ones (320s, 560s) can probably do ads on the front too. Only place they can't is the back. The Xcelsiors already have them on the back and they could easily do both sides and the front as well.

How come MTA Bus # 133 has the blue stripe, but not the other ex. Bee Lines. It actually makes the bus look better.
The nose on that bus is actually not from a BL, it was plucked off another O5 when 133 got into an accident. Looks really good I agree.

On thing that I have noticed recently; the M101, 102, and 103 are running more efficiently. I would assume that the new buses have something to do with this miracle.
I'm sure, those D60HFs used to break down all the time and I used to see the poor dispatcher at 6th St desperately trying to figure out what had happened to tons of buses that weren't showing up.

^ I don't think anybody tried to sound like they knew, and nobody was that far off, but thanks for the clarification in any case.

I like this whole NG-free day thing: got 9466, then 9238, then 5066, then 6741, and then 5611 and that's how I like the fleet!

I always thought that the B/O made announcements on like a speaker, not a telephone.
Can a B/O call someone on that phone?
Either way, technically sposed to use the phone-device only when the bus is stopped but nobody really follows that. I think it's a closed-circuit phone, I'm pretty sure it's just limited to the bus but maybe it's possible it can talk to dispatch? I don't think so though, think it's just for the PA system.

9466, wow. Crazy runner and the B/O was nuts with it, the lean was fantastic. Felt like new, shows you what care GA takes of their buses. Then I got 9238. Well, it's old, that's the excuse. No A/C is difficult though, especially when the engine's that hot.

Since I can't find the Manhattan Bus Proposals thread, I have to make a new thread.
Here is a map of this M19, an eastern version of the M15.
https://maps.google....102453,0.154324
If a mod sees this, please combine this thread with the Manhattan bus thread.
Keep it on the West side much longer. Morningside Heights could use some more service and the whole West side is completely underserved whatwith the M11. If you ran it on the far West side until 23rd (ideally 14th) or so, that'd be something valuable. Not sure if we really need another bus to South Ferry though.

^ Wonder what the story is there, might be some work at AMS happening.
5013 as well
No wonder there was no Quill loaner today, they're busy sending buses to QV.
9502 at MHV for today.

So I'm waiting by the M2 stop today when I see this van comes barreling towards me. I just stare at him in this daze until I realize, hold up, he's not stopping. I jump back and my man drives straight into the back of a parked Nissan, missed me by about a foot. Keeps you on your toes...

I never understood why is JG an all CNG depot. Could it fuel buses like RTS MCI or Orion V. What if a fire breaks out and destroys the CNG station.
Actually makes the most sense to keep all the CNG buses together since there're so few fueling stations for them, that's why SC's current fleet is odd.

5209 and 9638 running out of MHV.

Looks like 5211 is staying at Manhattanville for now, running on the M1 again today. Hoping I catch this one soon.
8989 also at Manhattanville, also on the M1.
--
Also, from the other forum, sounds like 9206 left FP as well, now at QV. Shame there, means there's only one left at QV.

5211 currently on the M1.

The 800-900's weren't rare at all when I was in Brooklyn last weekend - they far outnumbered the newer C40's on the B11, B16, B35 and B68.
Huh, past few days on the B35, B61, and B67 I've been seeing a majority of new C40s.

There're a few different colors:
blue background = NYCT local route
light blue background = NYCT SBS route
green background = NYCT express route
dark blue background = police service
grey background = museum fleet
very light blue background = MTAB local route
turquoise background = MTAB express route
Unless you're looking at it on a mobile device, all numbers are white except for SBS routes which are blue.

370 and 372 in at Gleason, those old C40s are getting rarer and rarer. 8854 also at ENY.

Listen, I'm not a fan of being boxed in like a caged animal; I enjoy talking to my female passengers, so the partitions are cockblocks.
Lol I always wondered how an op was sposed get a number slipped to them with a partition in the way, guess that's a problem after all!

Appreciated as always. I had a suspicion that 9206 and 9219 were the only 1996s left at FP, hard to believe that depot has actually gone down to that few of them. I remember when those routes were packed with 96s, but I guess those are off to JFK and ENY for the most part. Other surprise is simply how many RTSes QV is getting...school year doesn't have that much longer, and sending old buses to QV with their A/C issues doesn't sound all that smart... Also, ECH got a 7400? Huh.

So I caught 3858 at 127th, and this bus got overhauled at some point, has fresh RTS seats on it. Made for a really good ride.

Nah it's not just LGA, I've smelled it on literally every TU D60HF I've ridden on in the past year and a handful of Mannyville buses. But the fact LGA has so many high floors probably makes it worse there.

Goddamn, I gotta ride one already! What routes are they most common on? I was at JFK (airport) the other day and the Q10 was 100% OG/NG Orion VII from what I could see, but I hear they are around on the Q60.
No. Or if they are, they're allergic to me. I've been looking for one for the past few weeks, even during rush hour and all, not one.

So that's why I don't see any of the things... Shame, I liked those buses. 5981, 5987, both scrap? Huh.

This whole relieving yourself in the back of the bus thing is legitimately disgusting. Remind me to avoid the back of LGA RTSes. Two ops I just saw doing it, blatantly too. I understand bathrooms may be hard to find but that's just nasty. Wonder how well these types fare with the clear back doors on the new buses...

9155 is now at the JFK depot. It was seen (not by me) yesterday on the Q-11. It has JFK stickers on it.
FP original if I remember right... And now 9169 is at ENY too. Gah, was hoping to get a couple B52 or B26 1996 rides but it's really slim pickings at FP now, 9206 and 9219 seem like the only ones seeing regular service (both ex-MHV buses IINM, just reminding everybody B)).

I someone remind me why those ex bee-line O5's still use allows and haven't been converted to use the standard stocked MTA steel wheel...
Well, something like half got the MTA wheels since almost all of the LGA buses have MTA steel wheels, it's just the BP buses and a couple strays (108 comes to mind) that kept the Alcoas. Have no idea why, honestly.

I mean, I don't think it made more sense, I think it made less sense. @Gorgor: 9th and 10th are huge avenues and "practically nobody" is just wrong. The M11 has a pretty significant ridership and with the 7 train extension it's only more people going West. 9th already has a bike lane median in some parts and 10th is a huge avenue. They said all that about the 1st Ave SBS (doing bus lanes / bikes lanes took out two lanes) and that works incredibly well, huge success for the MTA and most riders (except you for some reason). 23rd is also a pretty good choice to go crosstown on, traffic's not that awful at most times so I agree with this routing myself.
