N6 Limited

I'm tired of Veola taking the brunt for buses that have ALWAYS BEEN CRAP. LIB did not have the best maintenance, and they let buses go to shit so that they could get federal funding. Get over it folks, when you buy a used car and it brakes down is it YOUR fault? Or years of bad maintenance? Get a grip

 

Edit: IF the NEW buses start having issues THAT is when you will have a valid point. And I mean the NEW deliveries coming this year. not the existing O7's

It is possible that the lights IN Roosevelt Field MAY be run by the mall since the mall is private property.

 

Just because someone has a range rover , it doesn't mean they can actually afford it.

The government requests that buses be in service for 12 years. Plenty of transit authorities have 11 and 12 year old buses that run perfectly fine.

 

Right but these same buses have been breaking down for YEARS, not just the 7 months that Veolia has been in charge.

It's interesting how article comments blame Mangano, the Orion V's have always had break down issues, it just so happens that this time it happened crossing tracks.

Actually, I was just on a packed N24 going to Jamaica from Hicksville. It was full from halfway between Hicksville and RF. I got off at RF.

 

 

Anecdotal evidence, it now has Better connections to the N7879, the N22 could have been late and those passengers just wanted to get to Roosevelt Field, etc, and it's on 30 min headways.

 

I've been on full front-to-back SRO N1's., I've seen a SRO N6x SUCCESS! as QJ would say, but the next one had 3 people on it.....

 

But since we're on the N24, how are the N22 and N24 handling Old County Road between Mineola and Roosevelt Field?

I'm not sure how that would help. the N24 isn't heavily used East of Roosevelt Field.

well you just need to start taking it a little more often nowadays it actually finally caught on so try it sometime we'll see how it actually finally caught on so try it sometime we'll see how crowded it gets now.

 

According to bus ops N6X started getting full after they added new stops. Now its a success. Hard to believe you only took it a few times early you had to wait till it gets better. I dont lie about these things. You know I know what I saw you can only deny the truth for so long.

 

But how are the N6 Locals holding up?

 

Has the N1 to Jamaica via School Rd made a difference?

I've noticed that the N6X goes to the 165th street bus terminal after 5PM now as opposed to after 6/6:30 or whatever it was before

Just realized that the N27 middays is reduced to hourly!

 

Now why am I not surprised to this, even though I didnt know either

 

 

Ah, by making it hourly they probably need no additional buses.

They did this very sneaky, the new schedules still have the same names as the april 8th schedules.

 

If the N6X goes to 169th street, where does it turn?

One NG occurance i had was on the N6, packed bus, the rear door didnt work.

There are no mention of any changes on their site.

apparantly you are not up to date cause the last time I tried the N6X it was full and crush loaded!!! try it your self I am NOT LYING it is now starting to catch on.

So, if weekday off peak N27service is extended to Roosevelt Field, then whats going on with the N23? Will it go to Mineola, or continue to go to Hempstead?

Someone tried to get on the N79 with an invalid transfer. The driver read it aloud and said it came from the "Q315M". What is that?

 

Also, I heard Clever Devices say "Route N24 Jamaica via Jericho Turnpike" without stuttering/tonal irregularities, so I would assume its a NICE-made recording.

Oh yes. Even almost 20 years ago waiting for a Queens-bound N22 or N24(forgot bus line i took lol)and going home then to Brooklyn couple of days before X-mas and the bus taking 40-plus minutes just to get to Mineola station.

 

I think this is another reason why Nice reduced the Old Country Rd Routes. Now its just the N15, N22 , N24. There is reduced N22 service on Old Country Road since the N22X and N22L bypass Old Country Road. Although, I've seen Glen Cove Road become a parking lot also.

Every morning I see a 79 on Manetto Hill road with standees there needs to be more service.

 

Why should there be no standees during rush hour?

The N4 is 2 blocks from the Bus Terminal and it serves Jamaica Center. I think a better choice than having the N4 stop at the bus terminal (service option wise) is to have the N6 and/or N22 and/or N24 serve "Sutphin Blvd-Archer Ave- JFK".

Parsons and archer sucks, it split up the transit hubs.

Thought I've seen it all, a lady is on the bus, talking on the phone, she has it resting on her shoulder in speaker mode. ( Jamaica bound N6)

If they become N21's then what would be the difference?

Not only that, look at any city, and all routes that go to the airport. How much ridership is there as you get closer to the airport? Usually pretty empty.

Anyone else having problems with VERY late buses? As in 15-20 minutes late? The N22 8AM at Mineola is always super late.

 

I think its ridiculous for buses to be that late on a consistant basis. I don't know if its the route or the driver. Though when it hits 15+ minutes I know exactly what driver it is and I haven't been wrong yet. Its very aggrivating, missing transfers and standing there waiting for so long. How difficult would it be to be honest about when the bus will arrive? Its clear that it will never arrive in Mineola on time.

 

I'm giving it a couple more weeks at most to give them time to sort out the bad drivers, but at this point its faster for me to take the LIRR to Jamaica, transfer take the train to Woodside, transfer and finally take the train to my destination. It sounds bad but at least this way I'm not standing in Mineola for a half hour then standing on the side of a main road for 40 minutes.

 

Customer service has been nice about it but so far, no changes. That same bus driver is always at least 15-20 minutes late. While other drivers are maybe 5 minutes late at the most.

I miss meeting on April 25th because I had errand for my mom and miss both NICE and NYCT Meeting.

Extend S1 to Sunrise Mall, to serve mall and connect to N19

The 22x gets good ridership I hear too. Not full, but its get more than the N6x.

 

That's because they don't run it every 10 mins llike he N6X, and it runs in the reverse peak direction.
