  1. Just an observation, It seems that the (F) gets to W4th quicker than the (E) in front of it. There are times where the (F) that I'm on catches up to the (E) before it at W4th. Numerous times when taking the (F) from Queens, once I get to W4th, I transfer tor the (A)(C)(E), sometimes a (E) gets there at the same time, or a shortly after. Or, there will be a several min wait where a (C) or (A) comes first. As there are less stops on the (F), and the 8th ave line is further west which makes the (E) trip longer, it seems logical that the (F) beats the (E) even if they leave Union Turnpike at the same time, where the (E) goes ahead.

There are times where I catch a (D) or (B) (if it's across the platform) to get to W4th quicker, and I may catch up to the to the (E) before the (E) before the (F) that I was on.  :P

  2. How anyone read this TAC Minutes?

It looks like NICE Bus did something new for TAC.

September 17th minutes- Which list who spoke at TAC meeting.

    From June 18th minutes.

For the September 17 meeting PDF, they have more information about the Clever Devices system starting on page 25.

  3. Funny thing about that. Every time I take the G it's basically within a 1 minute of its scheduled time. For all the shit that line gets, it's pretty decent.

I think count down clocks would help. Since there are none, it seems like your waiting forever for it to show up.

  4. Too bad USE LIRR!! Before N27 was more frequent so using LIRR wasn't practical. You gotta improvise. If you want em to see how badly they messed up N27 just stop using it they aren't dumb enough to run empty buses that were formerly full. Use LIRR and force their hand.  LIRR for a short distance is very cheap. Use ALL YOUR OPTIONS.

Rarely is the LIRR a viable alternative for the Bus.

  5. I meant for some people who lives near Whole Food by Jericho. There's one lady who was waiting on middle of raised maiden to see which n20 Flushing or n48/49 Hempstead/n20 Hicksville comes first during Saturday and she told me it was very hard for her to shop at Jericho Whole Foods on weekends.

That's why. n48/49 could turn around at parking lot.

Edit: Forgot to reply to this quote.

Yes the N48/49 makes it much easier to go to Whole Foods.

I see Yuki is already spamming them with complaints... as if it's really NICE's fault that every bus is late because of traffic...

Yuki is spamming putting up long complaints across several tweets. Now he's complaing the bus stop signs are too high and don't have Braille. The LIBRU is spamming with ADA threats.

What I want to know is, why as soon as NICE gets takes over, do these complaints and demands come out of the woodworks, meanwhile when the MTA was running LIB they get free passes.

  6. Not sure if anyone saw the Nassau Co. Exec debate on WCBS & WLNY yesterday but Suozzi looked like a deer in the headlights. Had several opportunities to address transportation issues when Mangano spoke of transit hubs, he could've said "hey Ed if you want transit friendly downtowns why are you not putting more money into NICE?" but he didn't. Suozzi blew it and lost my vote period.

"Transit friendly" downtown's on Long Island are going to be focused on LIRR stations.

  7. By reversing direction at Wall St. Trains don't run frequently in the late night hours.

How long does that take? Is there another T/O ready to switch ends? or does the TO, walk to the other end of the train?

L.pngNo trains between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs, Brooklyn and 8 Av, Manhattan

A.png F.png J.png M.png trains, M14 and free shuttle buses provide alternate service

    Weekend, 11:30 PM Fri to 5 AM Mon, Nov 15 - 18

L.png service operates between Rockaway Pkwy and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.

    Must be Irritating. Do the buses (B24, 32, 62, 60, 57, 38, Q54,59) connecting the (L) and the (J) /(M) get slammed?

  8. Service Change  Posted: 10/25/2013 10:02AM

Due to signal problems at Church Av, the following service changes are in effect:

Northbound f.png trains are running with delays.

Southbound g.png trains are terminating at 4 Av.

Southbound f.png trains are terminating at Jay St-MetroTech,

Expect delays in f.png and g.png train service.

Is Church Ave a "master tower" or whatever the terminology is?

  9. It's normal because Jamaica Center can only turn so many trains at rush hour. So they send some (E)'s to 179. IMO, it's not consistent.

I know they send (E) 's to/from 179th. In the morning they go Express so something like that wouldn't happen in the morning. In the evenings they go local, therefore one could make a cross platform transfer from  (E) to (E) if they arrive at Union Turnpike Simultaneously, although in my case the (E) to 179th was held in the station for people to make the connection.

  10. The other day I made a cross platform transfer from an (E) to an (E) at Union Turnpike.

We pulled in to Union Turnpike on the Express tracks, and there was a "special" (E) across the platform to 179th st. We ran somewhat light to 179th. I wonder if there were (F) delays because the bus lines weren't long. And my bus was actually light!

  11. The first one was messy, with long lines of trains waiting to turn. How is this setup different?

    Was the (7) crushloaded?

Maybe the first one had the (E) and (F) go local? If so, this "new"(?) set up allows them not to interfere with each other. The (7) wasn't crush loaded as far as I know (my car wasn't), I was toward the back though. Quite a few people spilled out at 74th street though. It was closer to 11:30 by the time I got to Roosevelt than around 10PM when the last (E) and (F) passes through if that makes any difference.

I avoided the (E)/(F) entirely the last 2 late nights and stuck with the QM5 instead. I think a lot of people had the same idea as the bus was much more full than it normally is at 11:30 pm and midnight

I've avoided the QB line in the late evening this week also, I was sure to get on the train by 8PM so I wouldn't have to deal with local trains/etc.  But it wasn't too bad, the (7) is above ground so one could use their phone, and the (F) was still express.

    Accomplishments are accessible:

  12. I finally experienced the Queens Blvd Fastrack. It wasn't as bad as I expected. I Took the (7) to 74th st, and went down stairs.

The Jamaica bound (E) leaves from the Jamaica bound express track and goes local.

The Jamaica bound (F) leaves from the Manhattan bound express track and goes express.

The Roosevelt Ave (E) comes in on the Manhattan bound local track, "fumigates", then it it continues "southbound" switches to the express track, changes ends and pulls in on the Jamaica bound Express track.

The (F) treats the Manhattan bound express track as a stub terminal.

The trains were in and out. I first went down to the Jamaica bound platform and was greeted to a full (E) train with the doors already closed then it started to head out, then I saw the (F) on the other side so I ran up and over, and it started pulling away. Basically the (E) and (F) can pull out at the simultaneously.

While that was happening, a Roosevelt (E) pulled in dropped off passengers, pulled off, the C/O announcement about taking the (7) to Manhattan then pulled off. a few mins later, the (E) came in on the other side, and a (F) came in ready to head right back out in a couple of mins.

Maybe it's smoother since this is the 3rd(?) QB Fastrack, from the Fastrack map I thought both (E) 's  and (F) 's were going local, and that there might be a conga line to switch ends, but it was a smooth operation.

My bus was late so I didn't miss it like I'd originally thought, so it was a nice trip home.
