  1. Due to signal problems at Briarwood-Van Wyck Blvd, the following service changes are in effect:

There is no e.png train service between Forest Hills-71 Av and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer in both directions.

There is no f.png train service between Forest Hills-71 Av and Jamaica-179 St in both directions.

Some northbound e.png trains are terminating at Queens Plaza.

71 Av-bound m.png trains are terminating at Chambers St.

Some northbound r.png trains terminate at 57 St-7 Av.

Customers are advised to take Q60 bus making nearby station stops.

    Allow additional travel time.

Great now Queens Blvd is suffering issues especially the (7) now starting to resume service.

Wow I totally missed that this morning.

  2. It would be a massive construction project, they'd have to lower the roadway under the bridges to make the clearance 14' (or at least 13' 5" Hey, if Obama wants to rebuild the transportation infrastructure why not that? I think the parkways being able to handle trucks/buses should be on the list, considering the parkways have bridges this low because they were built before trucks were so big!

If parkway bridges need replacing they should build bridges with a clearance of at least14 feet

The bridges on parkways were built low to intentionally ban trucks and buses. Moses didn't want people from the city being bused to "his" parks.

  3. Has anyone seen what they have done with the N20? They reduced morning westbound service dramatically, buses were always full and there is a big Manhattan commute at that time. It appears they removed all the shortened westbound Great Neck routes and now only have westbound routes originating in Hicksville and Glen Cove. Did they make a mistake on the schedule or is this actually what there doing it might be a big mistake.

    NICE happened.

those short turns carried air most of the time people simply piled onto n21s & N20 Roslyn/Hicksville. When the great neck runs ran I always saw them in queens carrying air with Roslyn or Hicksville trips minutes or sometimes seconds ahead or behind. Then again they only carried in the westbound direction eastbound was a joke.

I think instead of having N20 short turns they're trying to get people to use the N21. The capacity is probably there but not used efficiently

  4. He's trying to create another Hicksville-Jamaica route, most likely as an alternative to the 22/24.

If they were to do that it should have to have a set up of the Queens Blvd Line. N6x to Hicksville, N6 local to Hempstead. Only a speed up of the lines would get more ridership all these 1hr plus routes its not going to increase ridership.

However in the course of speeding up routes you cannot just bypass the ridership like they tried to do with the N6x.

  5. All of the Jamaica routes are already long enough as is. No need to combine them.

If you ask me they should cut back that N24 to Roosevelt Field like the old days. I feel bad for the N24 drivers that have to go from 165 to Hicksville in one sitting with all local stops.

It's not like the N24 makes all stops. Most just cruise along Old Country Road anyway.

The most interesting thing about the n24 is that it gets to Hicksville much faster than the n22. That n22 is torture. The n24 to Hicksville is much faster.

It must be because of the part that bypasses New Cassel? I used to ride the N22 between Jamaica and Roosevelt Field, and the N22 seemed faster, because the N24 would get stuck at Jericho Turnpike traffic signals and wouldn't be able to pull out from bus stops because of traffic. So maybe the factors that bog each route down are swapped at Roosevelt Field?

  6. use LIRR.

People will not take LIRR. Some people get off at bus stop which is not cross to train station.

He still doesn't get that point

too bad deal with it some routes are nonessential and likely to not have replacements. Fortunately I have only had to use the essential routes in the NICE system.

People are dealing with it, it's called a ridership drop, lol.

You need to stop with that retarded suggestion, LIRR doesn't solve everything.

I've explained that so many times.

  7. Newsday reported 4 months ago, the daily average ridership drop almost half since the take over. 101,000+ in 2011 down to 60,000 in 2014. http://www.newsday.com/long-island/nassau/nice-bus-gomobile-app-downloaded-6-700-times-in-two-months-officials-say-1.8993784#

    NICE indeed.

LOL, not surprised. You can easily see it by looking at any bus in service. Did they really think that there were no choice riders?
