  1. I don't see the need of the route north of Lake Success. The n25/26 have that are on lock. I'm not sure on Nassau Blvd needing bus service (nor the residents there wanting them run), so I can't comment on that. In the south, the fact that this doesn't serve a major transfer point, either RVC or Lynbrook, will lead to low ridership, and that's guaranteed. If such a route was hypothethically created, I would prefer it to go to Lynbrook. Now, the problem is that this route duplicates both the LIRR and the n15. At best I would keep it as an LIJ to Lynbrook route, but even then, I still think the route will not have decent ridership. NICE doesn't even have the equipment for another route, in addition.

But what you're suggesting duplicates the N25.

But the n1 is way more direct at getting people to/from Green Acres than the n2/8. I don't think the folks who live at Meacham Ave, or Hook Creek need the n2/8.

Meacham Ave is far from the n1,  there are people who use the n2/8 it during rush hours. The N2 carried good loads to/from Jamaica before it was cut.

Some of these routes may actually see an increase in ridership as information about real-time information spreads. I've actually been using the bus more since real-time information became available.

According to the new NICE Command Center they know when buses are "full" in real time so I wonder if they'll let the public know somehow.

I've seen like 15-20 people at Springfield Blvd get passed by n6 buses, I still can't believe they had the n6x bypass that stop when it was first implemented.

2nd day in a row, signal problems at Queens Plaz are delaying E F M and R trains

Two days in a row, that warning has been up since 8AM. I saw the alert when I checked the MTA site while on the bus. I decided to take the (J) today (and yesterday). A friend warned me via text yesterday because they were stuck on the train for almost 2 hours!

    Service Change  Posted: 08/22/2015 12:58PM

Due to switch problems at Briarwood, the following service changes are in effect:

There are no e.png trains between Forest Hills-71 Av and Parsons Blvd-Archer Av in both directions.

There are no f.png trains between Forest Hills-71 Av and Jamaica-179 St.

For service to Jamaica Center, customers can take the Q60 bus making nearby station stops.

For service to 179 St, customers can take the Q60 to the Q43 or Q44 buses.

    Allow additional travel time.

Imagine this happening on a weekday. :o

  5. According to this group there is no other way to get to the meeting than crossing a busy highway. Where does the N27 stop? Maybe nice should provide shuttle bus from the mall to the meeting

If member on here said anything about the meeting maybe I would have went

If N27 takes them directly to the building why would these people walk so much and cross a dangerous busy highway? How many people went to the nice headquarters meeting? If somebody works full time do they make the meeting at night or on a weekend?

Also in the news clip the Long Island bus riders union wants Sunday service in Suffolk does nice operate some Suffolk routes?

Exactly, that's why you can't take everything people say as fact. The LIBRU is full of crap most of the time. the N27 Stops by the depo, it runs on Oak Street and Commercial Ave. There are a few other buses ONE BLOCK AWAY, walking from the mall inot that bad, it's probably farther to walk through the mall to the other side.

Why is the meetings held at nice bus headquarters anyway? Why can't the meetings be held at the Hempstead transit center or 165st terminal or flushing Main Street (N20-N21) by having the meetings in a area most of the bus riders can access maybe more peolle

    Will voice theee opinions,

Hempstead Transit Center is disgusting. 165th street terminal closes early and is crappy. Main Street is congested.

Many bus riders have no way to get to nice bus headquarters because the N27 bus hardly runs, & riders feel it is unsafe to cross old country rd that leads to the head quarters. I watched the news12 video these long islad bus riders union people looked scared to cross a street, I only hear of Long Island bus riders union people going to these nice bus meetings, if the meetings we're held in 165 terminal or Hempstead transit center more riders can express there views on the company & fare increase. Bus riders can not afford another fare hike. We are paying sky high rates already. If they did the meeting at 165th terminal Hempstead transit center I am sure nice can rent out a nice office room.

Many people cross Old Country Road everyday, I had to do it when I worked in the area. If you ride the bus and/or are a pedestrian you'll have to cross streets, it's not like these meetings are in Oyster Bay or Bayville.

$2.75 is not sky high, sky high is the $20 that Long Island cab companies charge to travel to the next town.

Hempstead Transit Center smells like urine and bleach, I would not want to attend a meeting there, you'd also make it TOO easy for people to attend. You'd have the ignorant undesirable passengers who probably ride for free anyway (because "oh wow, there's no money on my card!?" etc.  If you ride through HTC enough you'll notice the usual suspects) heckling any non-rider trying to speak.

  6. Is there a minimum speed limit in Nassau County?  I would think that a bus driver who is traveling under 10mph for the first 20 minutes of a certain intra-county route is creating a safety hazard by having tons of cars pass him by.  (Then he realizes he's way behind schedule and speeds up for the final portion of the route.)  This appears to be in violation of New York State law:  http://ypdcrime.com/vt/article30.htm#t1181

"No person shall drive a motor vehicle at such a slow speed as to impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic...."

I wish they'd enforce that law. The parkways are littered with these snails.

  7. Taking the false walls down on the platforms, all the orange tiles on the walls, re-do the platforms, fix the escalators, put up new tiles on the walls, and replacing the elevator. They're basically trying to make a new station.

Nice. At first i thought they were just going to take down the false walls and call it a day , but I can see the progress being made.

  8. N20 bus approaches Roosevelt ave stop, driver opens the front door the first  2 adults on the line just entered & just walked on the bus, didn't even make a attempt to pay, and what's worse, the driver said nothing at all to them, So I quietly tell the driver, hey you have 2 people who didn't pay, its not fare to me because I am paying, he told me I should tell the fare beaters, unbelievable response from the nice bus driver today.

If drivers try to enforce the fare it can lead to violence.  What they should do is have a button that alerts the police so the police can come on the bus and get the fare beaters.

The thing that annoys me about fare beaters is that some of them are repeat offenders, and they're not going anywhere of substance like WORK instance.

Normally I'd see no point in having such a short G.O., but it means 2 more hours of work being done at Lexington Av-63 St, it's well worth it. I'm amazed at how the station renovation still isn't done. I know having to maintain (F) service through the station impairs work, but still.

Right. I mean what are they doing that it takes YEARS?

  10. Northbound (A) & (C) trains are delayed because a train broke down at Jay St...at the same time, due to an earlier incident at 14 St, there are delays in uptown (B)(F) and (M) trains.

I'm at 14 St-8 Av now and there hasn't been an uptown (A) or (C) in like 20 minutes. For some reason, they sent a (D) train up 8 Av

They probably sent the (D) up 8th ave because the (E) turns onto 53rd st, and the 6th Ave line was jammed.

  11. Service Change  Posted: 07/15/2015  9:43PM

Due to track maintenance at Northern Blvd, the following service changes are in effect:

Northbound e.png trains are running local from Queens Plaza to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av.

Northbound f.png trains are running local from 36 St (QNS) to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av.

Expect delays on northbound c.pnge.pngf.pngm.pngn.png and r.png train service.

    Allow additional travel time.

    ----------------------------------------------

Oh geeze. I'm taking the (J). You just know they're still terminating (M) and (R) trains at 71st Ave.

Last night I was on a (F) that was CRAWLING from 36th street to Jamaica (and it was still held for clearance into 179th st) and the website said "Good Service"
  12. Service Change  Posted: 07/15/2015  2:21PM

Due to a train with mechanical problems at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av, southbound e.png and f.png trains are running local from Forest Hills-71 Av to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av.

    Allow additional travel time.

Why don't they send the (E) and (F) Express on the Local? Hold the local at 71st and let the (E) & (F) go first?

  13. Bus driver do multiple routes, so they cannot always have schedules for every buses they drive.

NICE Bus forgot to bring schedules to Great Neck Station, Rockville Cetre or Freeport Station waiting room.

I grab some schedules for bus riders who needs it.

It not old. Yellow is June 28th 2015 copy for n22 and n80/81.

Or did NICE cancelled June 28th schedule?

The N80/N81 schedule says Jan 2014
