1/2 through the route the B/O tells everyone that the bus doesn't have enough fuel to make it to Hicksville.
How does that even happen?

I remember once, I was with some people at the YMCA and we had to get from 4th Avenue/9th Street to Whitehall Street to catch the SI Ferry. An train came on the local track, and they refused to move when I told them that for our purposes, it would be making the same stops as the ....so I boarded and waved goodbye.
I've had the same happen to me, except for the fact that the was the one who pulled up on the Manhattan bound local track on the Brighton Line. I told my friends they would make the same stops as the , but they wouldn't get on. LOL.
Sent from my iPad using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
I have a similar story, but it was when the was running on Fulton Street. A friend and I was waiting for the train and the Manhattan bound came and some people on the platform would not get on, because "they "didn't know where it was going"

Before Jamaica Center opened did the and both run local all night to 179th st?

If only this ignorance somehow resulted in the culling of our population, the city would be better off.
LOL, You should see how utterly confused people are @ Spring, Canal and Chambers Street when the & run over the line between West 4th and Jay Street.
Maybe the MTA should have maps of the service change on the posters so that riders can have a visual of the service. change.

Why are the Stations so close together, especially west of Morgan Ave? Some of them have like a Train length between them.
57th Street. Broadway will be its pre-June 2010 self for a month.
Express?

If the starts in November and the 2nd Ave subway opens in December. Where will the terminate? Will there be 3 locals on Broadway until 2nd Ave subway opens?
A new line will be O (just wanted to do that)

Service Change Posted: 10/19/2016 4:16PM
Due to an investigation at 14 St-Union Sq, there is no train service between 8 Av and Bedford Av.
As an alternative for service in Manhattan customers may use M14A and M14D local bus service.
Customers may use , , and trains for service into Brooklyn.
Allow additional travel time.
Typical Rider: "Oh no! I'm at 6th Ave & 14th Street. How will I get to Myrtle Wycoff!!!!?"

Would this Broadway Service make 4th Ave service more reliable?
Whitehall St - 71st Ave
Astoria - 95th Street

Instead of the IND taking over the Culver Line, would it have made sense to keep the Culver Line in the BMT, and send the IND from Church Ave or Fort Hamilton Parkway stations to Flatbush Ave (somehow, via Church Ave, Parkside, whatever) and down toward Ave U, or across Linden Blvd/Church Ave and down Utica?

I'm far more concerned that routes that were formerly SRO after a certain time of day actually have seats available during the rush. Then again, I see quite a few more breakdowns and buses that are just so off-schedule, they might as well not have started the run.
Yeah, that's how I know there has been a ridership drop. The n6 was actually packed all day long, now one can observe buses with some empty seats and no, or very little standees. The n4 even looks sparse now at times.

so say they decided to extend the train using current levels to eliminate the 2 branch logic(example using the cta keeping the blue line between forest park and ohare elimnating it off the douglas branch giving it to the pink line) and just have the go to far rock how could the headways work outside of Rockaway blvd
IIRC, They'd keep the same headways and turn alternate trains at JFK/Howard Beach

So....what exactly is the difference between ADA service and fixed-route service at NICE these days? That "Flexi" is nothing more than ADA service, made to look like fixed route. So what's the point of having exact timepoints?
The route runs anyway but can also divert and pick up from the flexi stops if someone calls in advance

How do trains get from the trucks to the tracks?
0 -
Why not switch at West 4 Street–Washington Square? The doesn’t have to bypass all of 6 Avenue.
Not sure. Maybe congestion? I got on a queens bound at Penn, the arrived at the same time on the exp track, and I switched at 42nd when they let the go first.
The probably went via the from Jay St if it was on the express tracks

Who is the best person to write to about the R train? I mean I get the fact that it's a long line, but waiting while five N trains pass by is inexcusable.
I'd send at least one train local to 59th Street (maybe a to 36th also) and send the next couple of 's on the Express Track to catch up and pick up the crowd waiting to go to Bay Ridge. Is that feasible?
Have they added more timers along the Fulton St line? I've been making a ton of trips to/from JFK on the and I swear the used to fly down the Fulton express tracks but has felt a lot slower recently...
They should rename Fulton St to "Timer St"

I took it once last month, and there weren't many people. The was like one pickup or dropoff along Montauk Highway.
Was it rush hour?
Heard once that one of the 40ft buses was assigned to the S20.
However I'm not sure if it was because of ridership or just however EBT assigns buses
What size do they normally use?

Hows the S20 loop doing?

How is Ridership on the elmont flexi?
Speaking of which. do they have passenger counters on those mini buses?
0 -
Why didn't they make the new South Ferry an elevated terminal?

The Eastbound PM N6 will run at 15 min headway an additional hour to 10:20PM, Maybe the flagging will now stop.

According to a comment made by NICE on their facebook page, the Elmont Flexi will make five stops in addition to it's usual routing: Fletcher Avenue and Dutch Broadway, Hendrickson Park, Wheeler Avenue and Rockaway Parkway, Valley Stream Blvd and and I'm assuming Franlklin Hospital (LIJ Valley Stream). I still wonder how the reserving stops part is going to work, or if it even will work.
you have to call 2 hours in advance in order for it to stop at one of the flexi stops.

NYCT can learn from London Underground, the announcements are more informative, for example instead of "This train is being held by the train's dispatcher" on the Underground I believe I heard "This train is being held for service regulation"

I noticed the other day that the Fulton St line has Transit Wireless Wifi now. I'm not sure how far "south" it goes, maybe to Grant Ave but I know it works at Utica Ave and stations "north".
