It Makes a difference. I was transferring at W4th St and it said:
<- Euclid Ave 1 Min
Lefferts Blvd 10 Mins ->
Makes the decision quite easy.
I wonder if the rollout of these countdown clocks are because they are adding logic on a station level?
At W4th street, the downtown platform showed the and even though the was 10 mins away, and I suppose the didn't show until the left because it's the next local but it doesn't cover stations that the doesnt.

The countdown clocks were working for the 8th ave line at West 4th, Spring and Canal Streets.

Does the n88 use the XN60s during the weekends?
I think they said they were going to implement them soon.

They've already started using them. I saw one at Jones Beach a few weeks ago

The switch at 57th has a speed restriction.
Is that something they plan on fixing?

You do realize that with the merge at 34th removed, you can run the by itself at the combined frequency of the current service, right?
Why doesn't the switch at 57th st?

Queens Boulevard is 4-track all the way to the very end. What kind of work is going on that prevents all 4 tracks from being used past Forest Hills this weekend?
Maybe CBTC work?
They're replacing the crossovers at 75th Avenue.
They should overlap whatever work they can while the line is shut down.

Man, I miss those redbirds trains. The AC on the cars may not always work but they ran like Usain Bolt on speed...
Did they really run fast or was it the illusion of running fast? For example the R32's on the QB Express seemed really fast because it was noisy and shaky. The R160's blast through Woodhaven Blvd, there's this windtunnel type sound when going through the station.

Will the new Count down clocks on the B division help dispatchers, etc know where all the rains are for a command center type operation? If so maybe they can make better decisions when it comes to cross overs and who gets priority, etc?

For the 2nd Phase couldn't they just cut and cover under 2nd ae real quick to get it done quicker and cheaper and just Tunnel bore under 125th?

The QB shuttle bus isn't that bad actually

How has the been along Broadway? It must be nice for those heading past Myrtle to not have to transfer to the at Myrtle when coming from midtown.
The number of stations listed for each line is the number of stations not already covered by a line that has previously been officially activated on the countdown clock.
Take the - "11 stations". The R and C will officially be online before the . The has 32 stops along its route (not counting the trips to 179th St). All stops between Queens Plaza and 71st Avenue are already officially online, since they're covered under the R train. The stops between Canal St and 50th St will come online when the C does. That will leave 11 stations on the line that aren't officially online - World Trade Center, 7th Avenue, 5th Avenue, Lexington Avenue, Court Square, 75th Avenue, Kew Gardens, Briarwood, Jamaica-Van Wyck, Sutphin Blvd and Jamaica Center.Ahh ok makes sense.. However if the is already running, then why would the have 24 stations on the list?

Rollout schedule of countdown clocks. I'm guessing CBTC for the will be switched on in December considering its clocks will be activated by then.
It just says the number of stations but not which stations. And how does it work when a station that's shared with another line is further down on the list?

If the went to Lefferts, wouldn't they need several more trains to maintain service levels? Or, would every other train turn at Howard Beach?

I feel there's gonna be a conga line at 71st ave because of the frequency of and service.
Also, are they doing any fastrack type repairs to the stations "north" of 71st Ave? It would make sense.
Not on the GO, but it's here: http://web.mta.info/nyct/service/planned_servChanges_EF_weekend.htm
How did you find that?
Which LIRR branch serving Penn Station stops at Forest Hills and Kew Gardens?
Free LIRR rides
Babylon Branch and Long Beach, not every train stops on those branches stops at those two stations on weekends though.
The LIRR train time app is really useful for times/branches and prices.

Why are the maps of service changes/shuttle buses only displayed in stations and not on their planned service changes page?

NICE has already started using an articulated bus for the JB88.

No trains between Queens Plaza and 71 Av
trains provide alternate serviceWeekends, Saturday and Sunday, Jul 22 - 23
For local service in Queens, take the or instead.
• Transfer between and trains at Queens Plaza.
• Transfer between and trains at 34 St-Herald Sq.
This should be the weekend service pattern whenever the local or express track is out of service.

Yes, they're currently doing design work at the moment. Should be starting on preliminary utilities relocation in the next year or two.
Shouldn't this have been done before the completion of Phase 1?

Oh ok. at 75th ave, Union Turnpike or Briarwood?
I wonder how many shuttle buses they will need for that.

What work is being done that's making and trains terminate at 71st ave during that GO?

Is there a timeframe for the new countdown clocks to be working?

Oh gosh knowing this I'll probably leave my house earlier and take the .
I don't know if all trains were doing it, or if that particular T/O was being super cautious (because he started slowing down in Manhattan too). But omg it was horrible! Even one guy that was standing said "that was torture" once we started speeding up when the express tracks dip below Northern Blvd.

What about installing fans by the street grates to blow the hot air out of the stations?
