    Have you been on QBL?

Queens bypass (with or without CBTC) would be beneficial regardless. Unless you imply connecting it to RBB in a post CBTC QBL otherwise that would be an idiodic thing to say in an alternate timeline

I'm saying if there was a bypass (To 71st ave) they could've shut the QBL down on weekends/late nights and get CBTC installed quicker, instead of having 30+ minute delays after 10PM on weekdays and all day weekends and stretching the project out for years.

If they connected the bypass to the RBB it would be a waste, you'd have this "express" service to Manhattan with barely enough riders to justify it.

I’ve noticed a lot of complaints on Twitter about congestion in queens late evenings. Why don’t they run the (R) to 179to alleviate it ?

I've been saying this forever! But now I just take the LIRR, can't be bothered.

I emailed them one time and they replied saying it's cost prohibitive (meanwhile, all the crews are late and probably get overtime anyway)

Yeah, it took me 30 minutes to get from Roosevelt to Woodhaven Boulevard. I should have opted for taking the Q53 instead.

Right, extremely frustrating. One time I bailed for the Q60, it's absolutely crazy, who's in charge?

The 90 minute headway on the weekend n1 has been a thing since last April. Instead of eliminating it outright, NICE choose to reduce service from 45 minutes to 90 because of low ridership. The Elmont-Green Acres portion of the route gets the most customers while Green Acres-Hewlett doesn't get anyone. The n1 terminates too far north of Lawrence or Far Rockaway for it to be of any use.

Yeah I think if it went to Far Rockaway/Lawrence that would be a helpful North South Route, but it connects to the N31/32. I think if it went by 5 towns Shopping centers, via Brookville Blvd/Rockaway Turnpike it would get more ridership.

  4. Hempstead Branch Customers
    Delays  Posted: 01/04/2018  7:25PM

Eastbound trains continue to bypass Hillside Support Facility (for LIRR employees only), Hollis, and Queens Village due to winter weather conditions.

The 7:09PM train from Hempstead due Atlantic Terminal at 8:00PM has been canceled due to winter weather conditions. Customers will be accommodated by the next westbound train.

      -----------------------------------

Why do they have to bypass those stations?

Seriously though, this is why nobody knows what the hell is going on half the time. If all of the service change posters state that mainline (M) train service is suspended, perhaps it would be prudent to not label the shortened line as an (M). Or better yet, make the actual service change reflect the real service. It would've been much easier to convey to passengers that (M) trains were not running between Essex St and 71 Avenue.

If the (M) trains are running between Broadway Junction and Chambers St, why not just label them as (J) ?

    Service Change  Posted: 12/21/2017  8:09PM

There is no (J) train service between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Broadway Junction in both directions.

Jamaica Center bound (J) trains end at Broadway Junction.

    (J) and (M) trains are running with delays in both directions.

These service changes are because of signal problems between Alabama Av and Cleveland St.

As an alternative customers are advised to use the Q24 and Q56 bus service.

    1. Stop comparing with systems around the world because its not the same as NYC.

    2. And with your logic, you're going to caused heavy congestion because you will be holding the (B)(C) Trains even longer unnecessary

    3. There will be express Trains still having to local with your logic. They're not going to hold the (B)(C) for over 10 minutes so they would put the express trains in front.

Those trains would be to 125th st in 10 mins, it wouldn't even make sense if they did that. Just send some express to limit delays.

I know on Queens Blvd if they sent some (E) and (F) trains first they wouldn't to sit behind terminating (R) trains. Instead two trains wizzing through express and one train terminating. now you have 3 trains in a hold, followed by more.

Lots of interesting things happening at night this week. One of my favorites is the (A)(B)(C)(D) sharing the uptown track after after 59 St after 9:45PM. I get our system is in bad shape, but for those trying to travel overnight are going to have a great night.

And they will be sharing the same tracks (Local Tracks) after 10 PM on Friday for the weekend G.O

Can they send the (A) and (D) first express on the local then send the (B)(C) behind them?

Delays Posted: 12/13/2017  5:23PM Southbound (E) and (F) trains are running with delays because of a rail condition at 36 St (BKLYN).

    (Spot the Error)

They probably mean 36th Street Queens. How are the (M) and (R) not affected? Is the condition tame enough to run the (E) and (F) slow through the area?

Last week when there were switch problems at Broadway Lafayette that seperated the M in 2 sections , on SubwayTime  the ones from

Chambers to Broadway Junction were labeled (J) on SubwayTime. Not from the junction though .

EDIT: Guess what? Around the horn is apparently right .

I wonder why they choose this.Maybe to not get people confused.

Probably. The (M) is already posing as a (J) train between Myrtle Av and Broadway Junction, more so on weekends when it only runs to Essex St. Sending it down to Chambers St as an (M) when it was stated that the service would be completely suspended would only confuse riders further. On a related note, it looks like we're halfway there. We have additional coverage for Jamaica. Now we just need Queens Blvd.

They must have updated Subway Time then. The last time I used the Nassau line a few months ago (M) trains were going to/from Nassau St over the weekend. At Canal St,  Trains to Broad were on the "Uptown" list and Trains to Jamaica were on the "Downtown" list, so it was weird.

    It was like:

    Canal St

    Uptown

    (J) Jamaica Center    3 min

    (M) Broad Street        10 min

    Downtown

    (M) Metropolitan Ave  4 mins

    (J) Broad Street          12 mins
