  1. I wished their was more photos of NYC transit vehicles from the 90s period online lol. There's only handful of NYC bus pics online from the 90, starting in the mid 2000s there was an photography boom in this hobby where everyone and their mother started photographing buses (and trains). Even on the subway side there's hardly any 90s photos compared to the mid 2000s onwards.
  2. No way will it deadhead all the way to 207th from Pikin, it will most likely start at either Lefferts or Mott Ave. There's no line runs that start at Eucild on Sundays (If there is, they aren't shown on the public timetable on the TA's website)
  3. MTA and NFI had an falling out over an D60HF order in the early 2000s, I think NFI didn't want to make HF buses anymore when the MTA wanted more D60HF or something like that. It was crazy because prior to the C40's/4800s being ordered ppl said the MTA would never buy NF buses again, yet here we are in 2019 and the bus fleet of full of NF buses. I wonder why the MTA stopped buying the Orion V even though Orion offered it well into the late 2000s... Bee line has Orion V's built in the mid to late 2000s. Its funny as even though they were the same model, the 06 BL Orions and MTA 6000s Orions felt like completely different buses.
  4. Yikes if anybody tries to look for it on Sunday, I'm only saying that because the is the longest line in the system you could be waiting forever for that damn train to show up. Lets hope Bombardier delivers some more 5 car sets soon so the can have quite a few 179s sets instead of only 3010 - 3019 for a few months if they fellow the original delivery plan. When the 4 car sets debuted the J wasn't running into the Manhattan due to a G.O so that made it much easier to find. I'm pretty sure someone will be giving frequent updates on those facebook railfan groups so maybe it won't be hard to find for most fanners...
  5. Teens trolling and pulling the EB cord has been happening for years, and 99 percent of the time its not bad behaving railfans either.
  6. Yes, the redbirds are why the 62A went sent to the in the first place. They wanted the late night shuttle to be OPTO and the 62/62A were the only full width cab IRT trains at the time.
  7. Today I was in Central Park enjoying the nice weather.. when I left the park I saw old MCI 2836 on layover!!!! but I didn't have an MetroCard with 6.50 on it so I couldn't ride it SMH. Then I saw 6365 on the M104, I wanted to ride that particular bus as it's possibly a future museum bus. But I was on the wrong side of the street and the bus got away, so I took 2 L's in a matter of minutes😣 Did an LIRR - fantrip to get to the to take me home, the LIRR equipment I got was an M3😁 so the day wasn't an complete loss, Transit wise.
  8. Lots of riders were complaining about the smell of fuel along the line on Twitter. Supposedly diesel fuel leaked from an work train..
  9. Nope cause the electric buses at Grand & Quill don't use any type of fuel, not even diesel fuel... its straight electric and the buses get recharged at the depots.
  10. Speaking of XDE60s... I rode the Bee Line units for the first time today and liked it, felt weird riding an hybrid artic with that golf cart like acceleration that hybrid buses have. I'm very bummed the MTA will not be buying any XDE60s, would have been fun to ride them up the hills on the BX9...
  11. Late 2000s was fun as well with the R40s & R42 being sent to Jamaica yard and Pikin/207th before being retired. R42 E/F & R trains were quite cool to see. Also I think at one point the A was operating every car class from R32 to R44, there was far more 44s than everything else but still fun. The shutdown possibly could have made things exciting again, oh well.
  12. Surprisedly there was not one but two 32 sets on the line today! One on the Far Rock branch and the other on the Lefferts branch. Didn't expect that since muitple sets of 46s pretty much don't run on the anymore so the should be able to make service on weekends without using the 32s. I'm not by any means complaining, I love the 32 trains just surprised to see muiltiple sets in service on the these days. & assignments have been crazy lately, never know weather the train will be an 32, 46 or 179 😀 Def the most exciting Subway lines in the system right now.
  13. So basically this is the Metro North version of that line G.O in the BX 😃 Sucks as I was hoping they would increase service, increased service = higher chance of the M3s running on weekends, oh well.
  14. Are these runs new? This is the first time I ever heard of these Crestwood short turns... Gotta ride em one of these upcoming weekend.
  15. The will be running express on CPW in both directions tomorrow due to an G.O so the 179s will really be able to open up speed wise on the N/B run, the 160s were fun to ride on that stretch when had this G.O in the past. Even the S/B run was fun until you hit the timers.
  16. Prevost redesigned their X3-45 model Nice looking bus but I still hope the TA purchases the D4500 with the beady eye headlights for their next coach bus order. Or an split with Prevost winning the 50 bus order and MCI winning the bigger order lol.
  17. I didn't know an passenger activated BIE within 600FT of an station can cause an NTT to stop, thanks.
  18. IIRC, On NTT, its not possible for an passenger to make an train go BIE while its moving, it won't go into BIE until it comes to an complete stop at the next station. That is, if you pulled the cord, of course if you throw an object between the cars or get 12-9'd, then the train will stop right away.
  19. It will most likely be 5 car sets due to maintenance practices, if an 5 car set is bad and the other half is good, etc. Also with transit workers being assaulted being an issue, they will most likely want full width cabs for the C/R's. Yea on the PA5's the C/R's is out in the open but I don't think that would fly in the NY Subway in 2020. Plus, no need to worry about the C/R controls being vandalized.
  20. Finally made the switch over to the MTA E TIX app (And NJT version of the app) I somehow got my debit card info stolen and I think it happened at either an LIRR or NJT TVM since I had problems using my card at an NJT machine and then an LIRR machine later that day. Gonna try out the apps sometime next week, hope all goes well.
  21. Rode a couple of the green sign hybrids out of QV today, to me, they aren't really that bad for buses on the verge of being retired IMO. One of them was a rocket! Also QV buses in general were looking clean af today, love when a Depot maintains a bus well cosmetically. QV buses were looking like Flatbush aka GOATbush Depot buses today😀
  22. I've read on one of these forums that new hires in school car get weekends off
  23. There was an R46 on the C line today, hadn't seen that in a while..
  24. I don't think they have school car runs on weekends. Another theory is that this was the 42 set that is being used for the speed unit or w/e it's called, testing out timers to see where speeds could be improved.
