  1. Finally got to ride 4970 today, it seems like it's always on the B42 but I always just miss it.
  2. I'm happy about these happenings in regards to Flatbush bus assignments. With the B46 artics being on hold that means all the 40ft SBS buses must stay on the 46 and Flatbush will have a large amount of RTS for a little bit longer. I think the LFS order will indirectly kill off RTS in the masses from FLA by bumping hybrids there from SI or the BX.
  3. Found this on Reddit, a 160 train with the FIND stuck on both the AND programs...
  4. Today I rode an 179 that had an software issue of some sort. Train pulled into 34th St, doors opened the announcements went normally until it said the next stop was Kingsbridge Rd and the FIND shut off, seconds later, the FIND came back on and everything was normal again. When I got off the train the outside sign said "Via Concourse". That was one confused train.
  5. 6365 has the same setup in the rear as the 6800s and NG hybrids... Was this bus always set up like this? Glad I finally got to ride 6365, hopefully AMS Depot is in its future!
  6. Some SBS XD40s will probably be unwrapped and put in local service to retire some of the RTS.
  7. Train is at Far Rock - Mott Ave right now. Wasn't even looking for it, since I didn't an chance to ride it on the Rockaway elevated structure the first time I rode it, Guess I'll do that now lol.
  8. Yesterday I seen an C40 on the B35, you don't see that too often, nice blast from the past! Whenever a 40FT runs on the B35 these days its usally an XN40, even right before the artics came the 35 was mostly XN40 for whatever reason.
  9. MTA drivers don't drive them from the factory to the service center, somebody else does that, TA drivers only drive them from the service center to the depots.
  10. Nova buses are delivered in NJ somewhere and IIRC MTA drivers do take them from the service center to the depots.
  11. When the rest of the 5 car sets start coming in, the foam will pick up.
  12. 5209 broke down on the B44 today, I found out on Twitter of all places lol. I hope it's something minor as I really wanted to ride that bus😞😞
  13. Yesterday for the first time in many years, I rode an MTA MCI with an DD60!!!😁It was in pretty good shape for an 02 bus, ran really well with a lot of power, unit out of CP. We have an diverse MCI fleet right now, MCIs with three different power trains, DD60, CAT C13 and Cummins ISL.
  14. He's talking about the GMC RTS that got repowered into a DD50. I'm pretty sure most members on here were really young when that bus was in service. That bus was retired like what, 15+ years ago?
  15. NJT first got CNG coaches in the late 90s which were recently retired.
  16. They swapped the 4300 MCI with UP back in the day, even though UP had more buses. They could make UP 100% 2013 MCI if they swapped with CHR as well. Since I doubt the TA would want a mix of MCI and Prevost at UP due to stocking of parts, etc.
  17. I would imagine depots with those old MCI's with the CAT 13 engine will be first in line to get new express buses. While new express bus at UP would be nice, they aren't in dire need of them IMO. I agree with your last sentence, same goes for the 08 MCI order.
  18. I know about 5227 being the last non ADA complaint bus. I meant fanfare like a last run catered to busfans. An RTS will most likely be the last HF LOCAL bus, however IDK if the MTA will celebrate its local fleet being 100% Low Floor... kind of an icky situation considering express buses will be HF for the foreseeable future. Never knew they ran in Nassau after their retirement from NYCT... just a few days ago I learned LIB briefly had hand me down GMC RTS from NYCT.
  19. IDK if they still do it but QV use to put up holiday decorations inside their express buses in December. With that being said, I hope they swap fleets with UP someday, Love to see the MCI's make a return to UP. Plus UP Prevosts are older and probably have more mileage than the QV units. Only reason why I never fanned an QV express bus route is because none of their routes have highway running in the PM Rush, only in the AM rush and I don't care enough to get up early to ride QV EXP route in the AM Rush lol. My random thought for today, always nice when you get to ride buses from my three favorite depots in the same day (FLA, SC and JG).
  20. I know, I heard it before. Just because it's there doesn't mean the train crew will use it. I would imagine it would be annoying to set up the AAS on every trip.
  21. I wonder if the train crew would bother setting up the AAS on the 262s that end up on GC shuttle, would just seem easier to make manual announcements.
  22. Nah, because the uses 11 car trains where's the and use 10 car trains.
  23. My train has been stuck between Atlantic and Stutter Ave for like 20 minutes now, train crew over the PA said their having trouble with a train at Rockaway Parkway.. For a line that's 100 percent NTT it sure has been having a lot of breakdowns lately... Also yesterday the MVM at Rock Park AND E105th weren't accepting cards SMH, MTA is garbage, GARBAGE. When are these a**holes gonna make it where you can pay your fare though an app?
